10 Year Anniversary Party!

Since we met at a Halloween Party a decade ago, it was only fitting to celebrate by hosting a costume party!

Maybe this will become an annual tradition!

Thank you all for celebrating with us- you all mean so much to us!

David did a great job creating a balloon wall. A+! We didn’t get photos with everyone- maybe about 1/2 of our guests- but it was VERY fun snapping the ones we DID get!

David: you’re still the soap 🧼 to my loofah!

“Whatever you want in life, just know it starts with ONE SINGLE STEP, for you too.”

I only wish I could’ve found the courage to leave sooner, but I’m sure glad I left when I did.

Overcoming my fear to move across the country, totally solo, at 24 was the BEST decision I ever made.

Overcoming more fear, again, at 32 to go that very first 5K that started it all, was the SECOND.

I never knew I’d stay in California for 18 years and build the most beautiful life ever when I came to CA.

I never knew I’d become the President of a Run Club and start directing my own races when I went to that first 5K.

Life has a funny way of working out when we just channel some courage, embrace change, and do something different.

Just take the FIRST or the NEXT step and trust yourself to figure out the rest.

That just requires a little bit of faith.

As MLK said, “faith is taking the next step, even when we can’t see the whole staircase.”

FLORENCE, ITALY.

Such a spectacular place. Great food, better views.

We first visited Florence in 2021 and I fell in love.

In 2021, rented a car for just one day to transport us from Florence to Siena. That day long drive through Tuscany was amazing. It was sunny and warm.

This time, we rented a car for 4 days and drove through Florence, Tuscany, and Bologna.

This time it was rainy and a bit cold but we didn’t let the damp weather dampen our mood.

In 2021, on our drive from Florence to Siena, we stopped at a food truck and ate burgers on side of the road. It was a beautiful day and a bike race was finishing nearby. I’ll never forget that experience.

Even though it was under much different conditions – cold, wet, rainy and a weekday- we made our way back to that same exact food truck and were shocked that it was still there.

They were about to close, but we still got our burgers.

It wasn’t nearly the same experience, but I was really proud of us for making our way back to that same spot in the middle of Tuscany, some four years later.

I’m also proud of us for going out in Florence and running in the rain.

The first thing we did when as we arrived in Florence in 2021 was grab a taxi the Michelangelo Plaza. It was a warm fall afternoon, and happened to be a Friday night. The steps were filled with a crowd listening to live music, and that moment was very special too. This time, it was wet and rainy, but I was proud of us for running 4 miles to steps. There was no one there, so just like the truck, it was different this time- but really special.

There were so many opportunities to be dismal about the bad luck in weather this time, but we just chose to ignore them.

Usually I just share travel photos to my personal page, but these are such meaningful memories, I want to share on both accounts.

Where do we go to for our 10 year?!

What a fun 10K this morning with AREC! The 5:30 AM alarm was tough but this morning was well worth it!

Congrats @brighteyed2 on being the 1st (or 2nd?) woman in the 10K! Slight confusion for our 1st place F finisher on the course- you guys were only seconds apart, but seems she probably only ran 5.9 miles or so. It also seemed unintentional. So in my book, you were 1st! I enjoyed coming in 3rd!

Happy with today’s pace. Felt good the whole way and didn’t stop the clock today as I filmed some footage either, so a 9:12 pace feels strong. Happy that I stayed below a 9:00 pace for at least half the miles, with 8:46 being my best work.

I wasn’t sure I was going to count this as Race #34 of 2026, but in hindsight, since it was timed and we’re posting official results, I think I might! If so, it’s race 34 in the last 32 weeks. I used to be 4 races ahead of schedule but I didn’t race the last two weekends, so now I’m only 2 ahead.

Thanks @mcbride5877 @coconut_bert and @axe_strada for capturing some photos!

Always a great morning with @arunningexperienceclub !
