One of many great shows in the DC area.
I think this got moved to a house.
With @anasarca.band & anonymous
We met #sparkmarker / @kim_kinakin ❤️
on our first tour in 1993. Was always good to see them and play together.
Would occasionally catch up with Kim over the years. Was sad to hear he was sick & ultimately passed way.
This show was about two weeks before our “last” show, when we decided to take a 30 year break from playing together. I’m glad that’s over.

Anasarca’s 62nd show was 8/4/96 in a fuckin’ SHOE STORE called Jack’s Correct Fit in Oceanside, NY that Mike from Closure put together. Don’t remember too much, but this show was wild, and in a SHOE STORE in a STRIP MALL. Palatka hopped on the bill with Closure, One-Eyed God Prophecy, and Inside. Not sure if Irony of Lightfoot played? I’m pretty sure we showed up a bit late?

May 25, 1996. Kansas City Music Fest. Cool line-up but unfortunately we ended up not playing this for some reason… maybe school? Or our parents wouldn’t let us? Or maybe it was the 18 hour drive? Whatever it was, we got to make friends with Dan of Second Nature Recordings who released the Anasarca discography 25 years ago in 2001. Thanks Dan!

New design work for The Numero Group. The 12th edition of the hand-screened series is RYE COALITION’s “Pulaski Skyway & Other Bridges Burned”… a collection of demos, 7”s, and splits. All packaged up with a booklet with liner notes from Tony Rettman and a bonus rubber-stamped 7”. In the early 2000s I got to work on Rye’s Tiger Style releases, “On Top,” “Jersey Girls,” and “ZZ Topless” so I was stoked when this project came up. Again, always fun to work with bands that I was lucky enough to share stages with back in the day. Second to last slide is a photo of me and my bandmates (I’m dead center) watching Rye at the American Legion Hall in DC on 8/4/94… a show that gets a brief mention in the booklet.

I’d been meaning to get this record for actual ages and finally got it straight from Planaria before they ran out of their original copies, this album is seriously fantastic already on its own and the fact it was originally going to be a split with Anasarca blows my mind, the insert booklet it comes with is also one of my favorites in any record ive gotten, the letters at the end really put into perspective just what the band meant to the people involved and are honestly a beautiful read i highly reccomend takin a look at them at the end of this post, super underrated fantastic band !
