The lovely @esmayrosalyne and @littleraereads tagged me in this fun challenge so I thought I'd give it a go. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be?!

I've tagged a few pals to give this a go (if you fancy it!) but if you're not tagged and want to get involved, please do.

PS. This song is traumatising but it's been on a loop in my head since last Friday. Enjoy.

4 Books I Want To Live In🥀

👠Anna Karenina - Imperial Russia
This book is my absolute favourite... maybe it wouldn't be the perfect era to be a woman but I would love for at least a day to enjoy life in Imperial Russia.

🍎Twilight Saga - Forks, Washington
My teenage vampire loving heart has NEVER grown up! On my bucketlist for my life I still want to visit the actual film sites...

🇮🇪Normal People - Dublin, Ireland
I feel like there's no need to explain why I'd love to live in Dublin. This is my real life goal to live there oneday in a cottage.

🇪🇸The Shadow Of The Wind - Barcelona, Spain
The descriptions of the architecture in this book have made me fall inlove with the city! And who wouldn't want to live in Spain?!

This book is my heart 🥀

"If you can still hear me wherever you are, my love, my tormentor, hear this: It was never my intention to murder you. Not in the beginning, anyway."

In my entire life... I've never read a book more lyrically, poetically and beautifully written.

There will be books I get rid of, re-purchase etc... but this book will NEVER be leaving my collection!

Creating a Jenga-style book stack from three-word-titled books was quite a fun challenge, and I’m pretty surprised by how many of them I actually own.

Thank you, my beloved @the.ghost_reader, for tagging me! As always, I’ve decided to tag some book besties as well ♥️

Do you have a favourite book with this type of title? Personally, I can’t decide since most of them are just sooo good.
I do, however, have a most hated one:
- The Amityville Horror
(I will try to post a review about it soon)

♥️ 𝕻𝖎𝖓𝖐 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕽𝖊𝖉 🩷

In honour of tomorrow being Valentine's Day, I wanted to make a pink stack or flatlay and... I have about 4 pink books. So pink & red (and black) it is.

BUT I think these books look stunning together and the covers are so pretty. I'm especially enamoured with the Anatomy cover - dusky pink, red, gothic, and an anatomical heart/dress? Stunning.

I've tagged a few accounts who I'd love to see give this a go, but don't feel obliged, likewise, if you want to get involved - please do!

✨Kiss, marry, kill tag✨
.
Kiss, marry, kill but books - thanks for the tag @amorbidlongingforbooks 💖
.
💋Kiss - books I enjoyed but won’t reread
* So far I’m 2 volumes deep into Proust’s In Search for Lost Time and while I’ll 100% read certain passages again sometime, I don’t think I’d ever reread the entire thing
* And then there were none bc what was so interesting about it was not knowing what was going on but now that I know the twist at the end I defo won’t revisit it anytime soon
.
🕊️Marry - books I’ve reread multiple times
* The Princess Bride my beloved! Just finished my 7th or so (I lowkey lost count) reread last month
* Faust (and Faust II), tho I only reread my fav scenes
* The Great Gatsby
* Momo (first as a kid ofc and then again at 19 to rly grasp the deeper meanings and critique of our ✨capitalist system✨)
* Marathon Man (I’ve reread it this summer for like the 4th time bc the main character goes to Columbia university n actually knowing all the places mentioned in it enhanced the experience so much)
There’s a lot more bc I enjoy rereading books esp when the moment to reread them somehow fits whatever I’m getting up to
.
🔪Kill - books I would literally kill if I could
Probs a lot of the books we had to read in school n not just bc we read them in school or bc of the way they were taught or smth but bc they genuinely sucked assss (Die Marquise von O., Sommerhaus, später, The Tortilla Curtain und wahrscheinlich Der Vorleser auch wenn ich letztere beiden nicht wirklich gelesen hab weil ich die Auszüge allein schon zu kacke fand)
Tbh I don’t think I’ve read a book during my free time of my own volition that I would kill bc I usually know my taste well enough to not get That badly surprised - even the books I disliked (like Cleopatra and Frankenstein or Normal People) I don’t hate with enough fervour to say I’d wanna kill them, they just weren’t for me but they weren’t atrocious, just pretentious imo
.
💭what’s a book you hate with a passion?👀

Honestly narrowing it down to 10 books was tough. And I will probably change my mind each time I think about it! 😭 This year was a good one with 95 books read and although the last two months found me in a bit of a slump (reading and general) I am very satisfied with it.
