@anasse_drif explores the feeling of a positive souvenir through his paintings. Why is a positive souvenir so
important ? Why are we so attached and sometimes fantasize about the past ? In his paintings, he tries to answer these questions by illustrating his own personal experiences influenced by his French and Moroccan culture, he revisits impressionist paintings like “ses jardins enchanteurs"
or the orientalists.
With a style that mixes precision and classic painting, Anasse works on the feeling of remembering a moment, a positive souvenir. This positive souvenir is a place where we sometimes get refuge, a light in the shadow bringing us hope when times are complicated or when nostalgia comes to
visit us. The white lines are the process of composing this reality in our mind, inspired by topographic maps the white lines are mapping and building the moment.
Like a curtain slowly opening to the souvenirs we can see natural landscapes and dreamlike places.

RAT CITI is a dark action-adventure comic book set in a sprawling underworld named the "Sunless Citi". The "Junk Journal" is a special variant of the first volume of the comic. This book combines raw ink sketches, concept art, and studio photos from my residency at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Ultimately, this book represents my time in China as a transformative chapter where RAT CITI evolved from a digital concept into a living, physical universe." (Justin Fonrose, 2026)

@sabrina_haertig_gonzalez works in sculpture, installation, and text to examine how systems- capitalism, migration law, racial hierarchies, and labor- shape our lives and our environments. Her practice grew out of her own family’s history, fr

Noor Alwan, Sacred Topographies: A City That Flickers Between Memory and a Dream

Paris 3ème.

Anasse, on y retourne ensemble ?😊

A little recap of ten unforgettable days in Nida. 🤭

I came for the plein air and left with so much more — new friendships, inspiring encounters, beautiful moments, and memories I know I’ll carry with me for a long time. Somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with Nida and its unique atmosphere.

I’m truly grateful to have been part of this wonderful experience and to all the artists I had the pleasure of meeting and creating alongside. Thank you for all the laughter, conversations, inspiration, and moments we shared.

A special thank you to Saulius Kruopis and his son Eigirdas for creating this beautiful experience and bringing us together — not only to paint, but to create memories that will stay with us.🤗🥰🎨✨

And thank you, Nida, for welcoming us so warmly. 🇱🇹😍💛💚❤️

I am grateful to be back in Kuala Lumpur but I am missing my tribe of audaciously talented crazies so much. Stay weird and wonderful wherever you are!! The @swatchartpeacehotel residency does an amazing job of curating talent, and as writers are in the minority, it felt even more of a privilege to be here. Writers, apply here, best residency and an amazing location. I published two nonfiction essays and am working on two more; and have a book that progressed very well 💕

French visual artist Anasse Drif (@anasse_drif) explores the space between perception and reality. His works blend precise realism with classical painting styles. The white lines construct reality in the viewer's mind, inspired by topographical maps, depicting and building the present moment.

Two months in Shanghai. Back in Paris now, but this one stays with me.

Thank you so much @swatchartpeacehotel for the opportunity. I've achieved more in 2 months than I have in years!
