Had the honor of running into the legendary Lenny Kaye at The Anchored Inn in Brooklyn. His “Nuggets” box set was my Garage Rock education, and the Patti Smith Group created some of the most fascinating music ever. He could not have been cooler. Check out his new solo album “Goin’ Local”…great stuff! and did I mention the food was fantastic! #lennykaye #lennykayenuggets #pattismithgroup #theanchoredinn #brooklyn @theanchoredinn @anchoredinn57 @lenny_kaye

“Hey, why don’t you finally stop wasting your talent in our scene? When all you ever wanted was getting your ass signed to Sony Your reasons to be in a band are bullshit Punk will always stand against Emo kids blown to shit Please rewrite your pop songs and stop your cry ‘Cause you will never be as good as lifetime Emo kids blown to shit” — @hongkongfuckedyou (Surf Nazis Must Die Vs. Mother Speed) • There are few shows that just leave me absolutely speechless after them. Its been a minute since one really left me speechless. Id say since like Haywire last year, since that was just totally unhinged. Alot of that same energy went into this show, despite it being indoors in the Attic. Concert 362 saw me seeing the legends in noise / powerviolence, Hong Kong Fuck You, who have really been making a name for themselves and have been destroying every single set and have an amazing work ethic. Their brand of noise is much more pallettable for me, as its got that cross appeal with hardcore, and they fucked Brooklyn up. That set was one of the most fiery, crazy, yet experimental sets I’ve ever seen. Those 25 minutes they played felt like it was the middle of a warzone and I wasnt even in the pit this time. These guys just have it down to a T, from their artistry, music, & live shows, they just got it. That same thing can be said for the openers they chose, who are NY’s own @vixenmaw and @pillowbiterhc , who also fuck super hard, with the chaos of noise, but for a hardcore crowd. I sadly missed Cocaine Mitch and Apocalyptic Astral Projection bc I was late, but I’m pretty sure its the same with them live. Thats some of my personal favorite brand of hardcore, the more daring, fast blast beat type. So this show was fantastic, & ty to the dudes in HKFY for the photos, both in the Attic & when I ran into them at @anchoredinn57 . I also wanna shoutout The Anchored Inn for their loaded fries again lol. Shoutouts to everyone involved, such as the staff and crew at the Attic, those at @insistonpunk , the bands themselves, and the fans and friends (pictured and non) at the show again 🫶🏼. • #hongkongfuckyou #theattic #concert #concertblog #concertblogger

Hunkered down at the Anchored Inn during yesterday’s storm — afterwards @maverick_warner and I tried messing around with flash and light trails.

“A sea of picked flowers The sun absorbed into your skin I will sleep until I find you I won’t wake until I see your face Live through me, I’m pleading Speak to me, I need it” — @holder.413 (Passing By, Waiting to Observe) • Concert 337 was a wild one. The show was an absolute triumph and it still went hard af, even considering the circumstances. The lineup this time around was Holder headlining, with @azshara315 and @fieldofvision.631 opening, all at The Wood Shop. I did not catch Of Temperament since I was late, but I’ll catch em sometime. I didnt think I was gonna go to this one, but I’m glad I went. I originally went for *sigh* Balmora, but I’m glad I stayed for everyone because this show went even more wild than I couldve imagined. Guess were all smoking that Balmora pack 🚬 The show itself was short but sweet. There were also just a ton of kids there, which I have been seeing lately. Makes me feel old but puts me in a weird place, like sometimes I feel like a poser since Ive only been going to hardcore shows since 2022, despite listening to hardcore my whole life basically. But before I knew it, I felt like a veteran in the scene, an “unc” if you will 😂. Either way, everyone just had so much love for every band and the bands themselves showed off a fresh take on oldschool metalcore and death metal in particular, while Holder takes more from shoegaze and post hardcore at times. Glad to see them grow in sound and size as leaders in the next gen of hardcore. Every band was a great change of pace but the energy was always there. I was so glad it ended early too bc I got to hang out with the peeps at @theanchoredinn with those God-tier loaded fries. Also got to see the famous pickle dumpster of Meadows St lmao. Thanks to everyone involved with the show and for my friends, especially Claudia @claudia.tyson for the nu metal hands picture and to Jasmine @greatvalueoprah for the loaded fries lmao. Cant wait to see yall again soon hopefully. This show really helped with the FOMO from not seeing Thursday on a boat. Im almost over it 🥲😭🥀 but it was a great show and I cant wait for the next one! • #holder #thewoodshop #concert #concertblog #concertblogger
