Favourite reads during my 3 weeks in Italy, sequenced in the order that I read them.
Finished @sallyhayd 's on the flight over, joyous and sombre in equal measure.
As a Dub and a music fan, @freynepatrick 's novel hooked me from start to finish, I read it in less than a day.
@loubnamrie 's is an extraordinary first hand account by an Alawite rebel of the Syrian rebellion.
I've been a fan of Willy Vlautin since his Richmond Fontaine days and as a novelist , no one writes about about the daily struggles of US life with such warmth as him. ( The book also has a @the_delines soundtrack, how lovely is that.. )
@robertosaviano_official 's is inspiring, humbling and sobering all at once, while reminding us that regardless of the level of your activism....it is not enough.
Haruo Yuki's novel is a twisty claustrophobic horror/murder mystery that will keep you guessing.
Stolen Revolution is an extraordinarily comprehensive account of modern Iranian history, from pre Islamic Revolution to now, told through the lives of 6 individuals, I learnt so much from it.
I loved @djamelwhitewriter 's Booker Prize shortlisted novel, all the more so because I grew up near the Phoenix Park...and has lived in Lucan for over 25 years so all the locations were familiar to me. ( It may also include a @goatsgruffdublin recommendation ???) . Finished Oana Aristide's on the flight home, a perfect holiday read to lose yourself in, of life under Ceausescu’s authoritarian rule mainly through the eyes of a fantastic 8 year old heroine.

Absolute banger of a book. Even if you're not familiar with the history of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, Patrick Radden Keefe's writing mesmerizes and keeps you turning the pages. The tragic disappearance of a mother of ten sets off a history of violence, grief, and loss.

Shout out to @ancienttorecent for the recommendation!
