Her mother-in-law, Archduchess Sophie, often interfered in her life, even in the upbringing of her children. Elisabeth felt that she had very little control over her own life and that she could never truly be herself. To escape her unhappy life at court, Elisabeth began to travel whenever she could. She visited places such as Madeira, Corfu and Hungary, far away from the strict routines of Vienna. At first, these journeys were presented as necessary for her health, but they also gave her something she desperately needed: freedom. Away from the palace, she could spend time in nature, ride horses, read poetry and live according to her own wishes. florence deserves everything for this performance. I have been wanting to dedicate an edit only to Cathy from the series 'East of Eden'. The song choice was difficult, because I was looking for something that might fit the complexity of this character and expecially the magnficent work Florence did in playing her. There has been a lot of debate about the true nature of Cathy's character, and I do think the show did her justice and totally was able to show her cruelness, selfishness and what she was capable of without sugercoating it, but, at the same time, expecially in the end, they were able to make the viewer feel for Cathy, pitying her and even getting emotional for her, not because of what she had done, but in spite of it. And I have no words to describe Florence's performance. It was an acting masterclass in a way, and I really hope she's going to receive her deserved flowers for it. She is a force of nature, and only and actress like her could play a legendary character like Cathy Ames.
