Okay… am I a content creator now? This one video took me my entire morning, so the answer is probably still no.😂

I wanted to share a little unboxing from the @coyuchi gathering I was invited to yesterday at @granada_echopark . I don’t usually do unboxings - mostly because I don’t usually receive gifts like this!, but I was genuinely so touched by how thoughtful this gift bag was that I wanted to share it.

There are so many brands in here that I already love, and a few that I’m really excited to try: @coyuchi , @aeraforhome , @pfcandleco , @palaisdesthes , @rootedbeauty, 8 Greens by @therealdawnrussell , @truebotanicals , @cherrybombe , and @grovecollaborative .

I also really appreciate how many of these brands are trying to be more thoughtful about what they make and how they make it. That’s something I care a lot about, especially with what I’m building with @anda__house

And no, this isn’t a paid promotion. Just me being grateful. 🤎

If you made it this far, thank you. Truly. And I promise the editing will get better.

Maybe. 😅

Gratitude to @nataliestopka for exchanging oak galls I foraged for buckthorn berries she foraged. I made a beautiful yellow green from the berries she picked early in the season. Berries picked later make a deeper green.

Unripe dried berries made a prized golden glaze and watercolor pigment heavily used by Old Masters like Rembrandt and Vermeer.

The primary colorant is a flavonoid called rhamnetin, which comes from a glycoside called quercitrin. The pigment is incredibly responsive to acidity and alkalinity.

While usually yellow or green, the berry juice can be shifted to red or brown depending on the pH and mordants used.

@kaciecarter is the chef and owner of @honeyhi , a holistic nutritionist, and a mother though she clarifies, not in that order. After her own experiences with feeling sick, and trying every diet and protocol under the sun, she’s landed on the other side. She now subscribes to a new definition of wellness that relies on flexibility, experimentation, and realism. Her work, both as a nutritionist and at Honey Hi, centers around food that promotes personal, public, and planetary well-being an ethos that couldn’t be more aligned with what we are about. We’re excited to dig into all of it with her in today’s Main Meal.
