Pop culture told us we must always strive for the perfect-fitting pants.

Let me rephrase: we must pursue fitting into a smaller pair of pants.

As we came of age, we watched teenage pop stars Britney and Christina fit into the teensiest low-rise jeans that Earth has ever seen. We saw Miranda from Sex and the City fit into her “skinny jeans” again after having her baby and being too busy to eat (yikes!). Diet culture told me it was perfectly acceptable to keep small pants in the closet because it would motivate me to “reach my goal weight.”

The messaging was always to BE SMALLER. So it feels radical to stay in our bodies just as they are. When we design pants, we’re thinking about the person who will be wearing them, not a singular body shape that society has deemed “ideal”. For this collection, we’re re-stocking two pant styles that are designed to shape around curvy bodies, flex around hips, and stretch if or when our bodies dare to change size.

Two new whimsical prints in our Maxine Skirt are arriving this Thursday April 30th at 12pm PT 🪄

We use deadstock fabric - which is beautiful fabric left over from bigger fashion brands - to make limited edition pieces!

PS: Bone sets in Scotland would commonly have sheep’s knuckles, thimbles, hag stones, or other rocks called slake stones. I’m working with what I’ve got on the land where I live (no hag stones here, sadly). The idea is that you gradually add to your bone set over the years. My personal set is up to about 60 pieces.
