The Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandates provide incentives for car makers to sell electric vehicles. But the government is considering watering down the targets. David Martell is a veteran entrepreneur in the travel tech sector and the founder of @andersen_ev. He gives his take on the issue to me in a @businessleaderuk interview. If it works, it works. Niche down on the jobs you want to do, use the materials you trust, do the best job you can and charge for it. If you feel like you’re not making any money and you can’t compete, you’re competing in the wrong place. #electrician #business #electric #cable

From order to on the wall in less than a week ⚡🖤

A premium Andersen A3 in Midnight Black, installed for our client this week.

With the consumer unit right in the middle of the house, getting the cable outside took some careful planning. A tricky route, but a clean, tidy finish 👌

A few details that make this charger a great choice for everyday use:

✓ 7-year manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind.
✓ Built-in courtesy light, making it easier to use as the nights get darker.
✓ Hidden cable storage, keeping everything neatly tucked away without having to fetch a cable from the boot.

Premium looks with practical touches that make coming home and plugging in that little bit easier.

Ad | Getting my home ready for my new car! 🚗🤍

With my new car on the way, one of the first things I needed to sort was a home charger. After doing lots of research, I chose the Andersen A3 and I’m so pleased with my decision!

I wanted something that was practical but also looked lovely on the outside of our home and this ticked all the boxes.

A few reasons why I chose it:

✨ Hidden charging cable – The cable and plug tuck neatly inside when not in use, so there’s no messy cable hanging outside the house.

🎨 Customisable design – With 13 colours and a range of premium finishes, I could choose something that complemented our home perfectly.

📱 Smart charging – I can track how much each charge costs through the app and get notified when it’s finished. It’s also compatible with smart energy tariffs to help keep charging costs down.

🇬🇧 British made – Designed and manufactured right here in the UK.

🤍 7-year warranty – Extra peace of mind!

I love that I haven’t had to compromise on the look of our home to have something so practical. It’s already made charging at home so convenient! @andersen_ev

Who would have thought that the actions of Donald Trump could speed up electric car adoption? He’s not exactly a champion of green policies.

But that’s what many industry experts have told me has happened in the UK. The conflict with Iran has of course pushed up the price of fuel for combustion engine vehicles. And made prices erratic.

“People are more worried about the price of petrol than so-called range anxiety,” David Martell told me.

He is CEO of @andersen_ev , which makes household chargers for electric vehicles.

I went to visit his factory in Bedfordshire recently to do an interview with him, for my feature about the UK’s EV moment, which is in our current magazine.

He’d set up a temporary podcast studio in his factory, so I jumped in to record a few questions on site!

We discuss:

⚡ The rise of EVs and mental barriers for customers
⚡ The role of the government’s ZEV mandates
⚡ The opportunities for UK SMEs in this new industry, especially on the service side

Have you thought of going electric? (Personally, I did this year and wouldn’t go back).

🚗 AN EV CHARGER SHOULD LOOK LIKE IT BELONGS THERE.

When it comes to installing an EV charger, many companies will simply fit whatever the supplier provides.

At Augment AV, we take a different approach.

We believe your charger should complement the environment it’s installed into — whether that’s your home, driveway, garage or business premises.

An EV charger shouldn’t just be a box quickly fixed to the wall with a “hang and bang” approach. It should be carefully considered, neatly installed and made to feel like part of the property.

🏠 Your home matters.

🏢 Your business premises matter.

🎨 How the installation looks matters too.

That’s why we take the time to consider the positioning, finish, cable routing and overall appearance of every installation. We care about your property in the same way we care about our own.

Anderson EV chargers offer a smart, stylish and practical charging solution, but the quality of the installation matters just as much as the equipment itself.

We don’t just want to install a charger and leave.

We want to provide a solution that works beautifully, looks right and becomes a natural part of your property.

💙 BECAUSE GOOD INSTALLATION IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST MAKING IT WORK.

It’s about taking pride in the details.

It’s about respecting your home or business.

It’s about delivering an installation you’ll be happy to look at every day.

If you’re considering an Andersen EV charger, speak to the team who care about how it works — and how it looks.
