000 | toemei (maga)zine

A 72-page fanzine dedicated to no other legend, the peak of math rock: toe

Behind their intricate notes, rhythms and quiet intensity lies a world of stories — musicians inspired by toe, artists who have captured their music, and lost souls who have found themselves in it.
toemei (mega)zine traces these connections, bringing together conversations with musicians, artists, photographers, and fans around the world who have found light in toe’s music.

Featuring KT from Elephant Gym, toe photographer Yoshiharu Ota, Tangled Hair, pennines, and more…
This issue explores all the aspects of toe we’d like to share with you — because, after all, ‘everyone is mania in general.’
A celebration of music, community, loneliness, and the quiet hope that connects us all.

The magazine includes two full-colour art prints inspired by toe’s music.

Now we see the light. Loneliness will shine.

TOEMEI is a fanzine dedicated to @toe_music_official, the Japanese math-rock band which i ended up being part of as an artist.

I designed the front-cover and contributed an artwork inspired by Goodbye, built around the line "The start is living life to the end".

The whole zine is beautifully put together, and I'm really happy to have been part of it!

Big credit to everyone who made it happen:
Layout Designer: Lea (@leaaalin_z)
Back Cover Art: Chikako (@go_da6)
Writers: @hitomixu, andersonhungry, @lupei404, @chenglo0620
Featured Artist: @walkthecatt
Fan Art: @kivi_hung, @numeroangel333, @elijahfan61, @co3co3_
Music Consultant: @zaoyuan.prod
Printed by Passion Print, Kings Cross

And a special thanks to Peggy (@lupei404) for pulling the whole thing together 🙏
