Our new Mahjong mat from @andersruffdesignco and our Tortoiseshell Scalloped Mahjong Tile Discard Marker made their debut together during today’s Mahjong 101 class, and they were the perfect pair. I used the discard marker while teaching our beginners the mechanics of how to play mahjong. Each time a new tile was discarded, we moved it onto the marker so everyone could easily follow the action. It was such a simple visual tool for beginners, especially once the table got filled up with tiles.
