POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today is the 10 year anniversary of our first LP ‘Adult Contemporaries’

It simultaneously feels like just yesterday and a lifetime ago, and at the heels of our new album being released into the world it feels appropriate to relive the apprehension and excitement we felt surrounding our first effort. I still have a lot of love for this collection of songs, and want to thank @kennethjohngilmore for taking the production and mixing reins on it and doing such a stellar job. Also a huge thanks to our ride or dies @jordansabolick and @danielrosenbaum who have been with us since day 1, still some of the best shredders and people we know.

I’d like to think a lot has changed since then and we’ve learned in the process, but it also feels good to admit that we’re still on the same bumpy path, propelled by a mix of uncertainty and hopefulness, always unsure of what’s around the corner but infinitely grateful to still be doing it.

If this record meant anything to you I hope we can look back and celebrate together. Thank you for being on this journey with us <3

Friday’s back and so are the releases: big week on Rue Dauphine 🔥
We open with one we’ve been waiting for, Værelse, the first taste of the Skyen album we’re very proud to be putting out. Værelse — Danish for room — opens the EP with its most hypnotic gesture: a felted piano figure circling in place, close and slightly percussive, while soft synthesizers gather behind it and gradually take on weight.

We stay in ambient with a great track from Noctavio, Continuum: a vast, floating space built to settle the listener into rest. Each piano note starts near the front of the mix and travels outward, carried on by the effects until it becomes part of the atmosphere itself.

A change of register with Verde, from dnvn.beats: warm lofi built on piano, drums, synth, steel guitar and bass, around one simple idea — that green is a patient colour, the colour of things quietly working themselves out.

Back to ambient with Northern Bloom, from Slower Lover, which takes another route and carries you far: delicate piano phrases over lush atmospheric textures, with a progression that opens up little by little into a real sense of space.

In the same experimental vein comes Blue Interval, from Cosy Day: soft piano melodies and warm pads evolving slowly, with a harmonic movement so subtle it barely registers, opening up room until you’re completely at ease.

And we close in gloomcore territory with Stay Close, from Ghaelis: dark ambient about finding comfort in someone’s presence when everything around you feels distant and uncertain. Soft atmospheric layers and distant birds opening a dreamlike space, melancholic and peaceful at once.

“Indre Træk” could be translated into english as “inner current” but Træk can reference other natural phenomena like birds migrating south for winter, a draft, a breeze, or something pulling you.

Initially released exclusively as a part of a celebration of World Sleep Day, Copenhagen-based Danish producer, singer, and ambient composer Anders Rhedin’s original ambient piece “Indre Træk” is now available across streaming platforms.

@ignotapr laver PR 👌
