Final recital at Rollins! 🦋

First of all, I’d love to thank Kristine Griffin for being such an amazing pianist to make music with. I truly appreciate all the effort and love she puts into her playing. Thank you 🙏🏻🤍

Bringing this program to life was one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life. Ysaÿe, Brahms, Saygun, Crozier, and Wieniawski… I can still feel the pressure of it all, and I can proudly say that I did my best and gave it my all!

Two pieces in this recital were especially meaningful to me. The first is, of course, Saygun’s "Demet." I grew up in the conservatory where he taught, heard so many stories about him, and always felt his presence and influence in my education. Bringing his legacy into my graduation recital was a full circle moment, and hearing that it resonated with so many of you fills my heart with pride. It was a tribute to him and everything he gave to Turkish classical music. I feel incredibly lucky to have performed his work! 🇹🇷❤️

The second was Rose of Sharon by our dearest theory and composition professor, Dr. Daniel Crozier. His influence on my musical perspective, his guidance in composition, and his kindness have shaped me into who I am today. In such a short time, he became one of the most influential professors in my life. I’m so thankful that he trusted me with this beautiful piece, and that I could share his music with all of you.

Coming to Rollins has been life changing. My time here has been filled with so much love and joy. I’m beyond grateful to all of my incredible professors, my wonderful friends, and especially my violin professor, Joni Roos. Thank you for always being there, for all of your guidance, and for turning an unfamiliar place into a home for me.

Lastly, my family ❤️ None of this would have been possible without your support. Mom, Dad, and my beautiful Michy... I love you all so, so much!

I hope everyone enjoyed listening as much as I enjoyed being on stage. I can’t wait to share more music with all of you, this is only the beginning! 💙

22✨

As I look back, I can’t believe how much I’ve been through this year. How much I’ve accomplished, how much I’ve lost, and how different I am as a person. Something shifted (maybe it's because you literally moved to another continent, hello??), and I’m glad it did! I had to redefine everything I’ve ever known in my life. Friendships, family, home, longing, and finally... belonging 🤍

I’m grateful for everyone who came into my life this year. I’ve learned so, so much from each one of you and I can't wait to learn more! This year was full of change and love (and concerts. so. many. concerts.) I can’t wait to see what this new age will bring to me.

And lastly, 22... please be kind to me. I’ve been through a lot, and I've been waiting for you. Let’s have fun together! ❤️

I can proudly say that I finished my first semester as a TAR 💛💙

And what a semester it was! I'm forever grateful for this community. Working together and watching our hard work pay off was one of the most beautiful feelings I've ever felt. I thought I was going to have a hard time, I thought I would be lost. It wasn't always easy but I was lucky enough to have the nicest people on earth around me. Thank you guys for being there for me through thick and thin... I can't wait for Fall24, can't wait to create even more beautiful memories with all of you. Love you guys so, so much!

I wish the happiest summer for everyone, see you in August!
