⚡️From Box Car to Angels 🪽
“Do It for Me Now” — 2006
🎥 Andre Stringer

“Do It for Me Now” was Tom taking something broken
and searching for the part of it still worth believing in.

The hurt was still there.
So was the love.

That need to have someone pull you close
and make everything else disappear,
even if only for a moment.

Tom was reaching for something different now.
Something bigger than the pain that brought him there.

Stringer gave that feeling its own world,
surrounding AVA with light, color,
and the atmosphere that defined the beginning of Angels & Airwaves.

A song about two people with everything going wrong,
and still finding one reason
to hold onto each other.

Thank you all for coming last weekend! What a treat to see so many of you excited about THE CLASSROOM, our new longform photobook mentorship program for photographers. We're adding the finishing touches to the site & will open applications next month.

For those who couldn't make it on Saturday, here's a bit of our sneak peek into The Classroom: Over the course of eight months, a small group of photographers will each work directly with the publishers and invited guests to develop their respective projects from ideation to resolution. The inaugural 2027 session will begin in February and culminate with an Autumn group exhibition in Los Angeles, a final wrap up in September and a collective zine published by Deadbeat Club that will travel with us to all our fairs & events.

☝🏽Official program launch and application window opening in September 2026!

In the meantime, feel free to email us at classroom@deadbeatclubpress.com. We're excited to discuss picture making, editing, sequencing, curation and the specific ways this ambitious new program can bring structure and guidance throughout. 🤓

And that’s a wrap on the 2025 ride!

What a journey — challenging, inspiring, and filled with heart. Together, we raised over $650k to keep pushing forward in the fight against cancer. A massive shout-out to our incredible SF departure (@goodby Silverstein & partner) and LA arrival (@co3 @framestore) hosts — you made the miles even more meaningful. And to ALL the sponsors and supporters - you put the wind at our backs, year after year.

As we catch our breath and look toward 2026, let’s start filling those saddles (that means riders) early and keep this amazing community connected. The conversation — and the cause — stays alive when we do. Here’s to healing, hope, and the road ahead.

With gratitude and grit,

Your humble domestique, Rani
