This project has given me a lot of reflection on my journey as a survivor of SA. Just because most people “look” whole, when this violence occurs, their heart is broken forever. Something is taken from them that will never be replaced, and it’s an issue that must continue to be pushed to the forefront of society to change this disgusting behavior. Thank you to @r.j.pineiro for creating this work for us to collaborate on and for bringing your team to bring this to life. Thank you @vannessitav, @omar.alba.hdez and the @elevadosfilms team for helping me bring my vision of healing for the subject matter to life. @ivangarcia.gzz for being my eyes and your incredibly talented DP work. The cast that came together was absolutely so talented. I can’t wait to see them shine! And to the younger actresses who trusted me to take this journey with me, thank you @ang.marez and @zarasantoss_ we created a sisterhood whose bond will withstand cycles. A piece of me was buried here in this film, and now I’ve been reborn. Can’t wait for you all to see this amazing piece of collaborative art. 🥹🙌🏾✨ And yes, thank you to my husband for supporting me and our project and taking on a role he didn’t ask for, but pulled through for us! Thank you @misterreagan Look out for The Choice, next year on the festival run!
