What an incredible day! After months of composing, preparing, and collaborating with an amazing team, it all comes together in this special moment of recording my music with the LPO.

Their extraordinary talent and exceptional execution are truly second to none. Hearing the music come to life is incredibly exciting, knowing how much it will elevate the story of this amazing film we’re all working so hard to bring to life.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. 🙏🎶 More To Come.

Hope you enjoyed the initial glimpses of 2026’s #UnlockingTheSecretsOfSessionRecordings students conducting 28 musicians from the Budapest Film Orchestra on the fourth day of the course.

After all that intense work students and CFF team members trouped off to the nearby Nepalese restaurant, Annapurna, to relax over a tasty meal and drinks. One of the cocktails even gave us a bit of a show!

Time to bring you glimpses from the culmination of CFF’s #UnlockingTheSecretsOfSessionRecordings course in Budapest 1-4 October 2026!

3 intense days of lessons & practice have led up to this - conducting one iconic film cue with 28 musicians from the renowned Budapest Film Orchestra using our maestro, Daryl’s, reduced arrangement for:

✅ Star Wars IV – Throne Room and End Titles

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll continue to share more from this exciting conducting masterclass!

It sells out every year and we imagine that the posts we’ve shared with you over the last 7 days demonstrate why 😊

So we’ll have to keep you in suspense for a few days more about the famous film music cue our students conducted on the final day of #UnlockingTheSecretsofSessionRecordings 2026.

Our Maestro wants to review the phone footage recorded for social media and, unfortunately, he’s swamped with sessions* and other projects until later this week.

In the meanwhile, we hope these still images give you a flavour for the day!

.
* On the plus side, two of our conducting masterclass students were able to attend one of the sessions he conducted for a client yesterday, an experience we’ll also share later this month.

Day 3 of our #UnlockingTheSecretsOfSessionRecordings is all about our students getting ready to conduct 28 musicians from the Budapest Film Orchestra the next day.

Have a flick through these photos from our conducting masterclass. No videos in this post as we thought it’d be more fun to unveil the chosen film cue with the orchestra playing it, as opposed to the two-piano stand-ins!

And so begins another year of the sold-out #UnlockingTheSecretsOfSessionRecordings in Budapest with a similarly international group of conducting students with backgrounds in music composition, orchestration, composition, engineering and production:

Chris Ma and Andrea Posse from the UK

Robert McGuire from Ireland

Randy Hammon from the USA

Matt Wallis from Hong Kong

Hope you enjoy these short snippets from the first couple of hours on Day 1 of our conducting masterclass yesterday where attendees went back to basics and conducted brief sections from three film music cues using just their hands.

I can't believe it was a year ago today that #TheTraitors took over the BBC Proms!

What a day it was. A huge thank you again to everyone who made it happen and everyone who came to the concerts. It really is a day I'll never forget.

Can you make a 3-5min short film in 2 Days? Yes, with a lot of coffee and a brilliant team of filmmakers. In collaboration with @joni_juutilainen @laccilehmuskoskk @el1s4_ @andreapossee we wrote, shot and edited the film within 48-hours. Shot on location in Helsinki and edited in Brighton. The film is now in competition.
