Wow what an unexpected amazing effort!

It has been so much fun coming together with everyone around the world in this challenge and learning about climate along the way.

It’s been a challenge of physical effort, self esteem, building relationships and everything thought to be impossible…..

Hopefully the happy high lasts longer than my pulled hamstring 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

With thinking my steep skiing “career“ was over or at least on hold for a while @andreas.herlet got me hooked again ;)!! Scary and super exposed day trough Brenva‘s - Tardivel.
Spending all day on questionable snow bridges or underneath massiv seracs made the beers after tasting even better!

Aiguille de la Floria, Face Nord 🧚

Today felt like a return to steep skiing after a season focused more on mixed climbing.

This was classic Chamonix-style adventure skiing - linking turns with a series of abseils and careful route finding.

I felt a bit tentative but also enjoyed stepping back into that kind of terrain and the different challenge it brings me. It reminded me how much I’ve missed this style of skiing, and I’m keen to do more of it this season.

Hopefully the month of April can bring me some more alpine journeys that combine mixed climbing with steep skiing 🏔️

Col des Cristaux – 500m, NE face, 45°
📍 Chamonix
🗓️ 25 & 26 February

The Col des Cristaux sits quietly at the back of the Argentière basin. On Wednesday and again on Thursday, there was no one else there except me and my friends. It reminded me of 2019, when the lifts were closed and it felt like the whole basin belonged to those willing to walk.

I’ve worked hard on my jump turns. On steep skiing. On being precise and controlled.

But I’ll be honest — I’m still learning to trust the speed. @max.kilcoyne and @marco_malcangi were down the line in about 40 seconds. I’m still learning to trust that kind of pace!

Freeride turns in variable snow are my crux. Trusting myself when the slope opens up and the skis want to run.

I believe skiing the same line twice in two days doesn’t make it less special. Each time, if you’re open to it, the mountains offer you the chance to grow. And I’m here for that process.

The Summer of 2025 was jam packed full of crazy climbs, fun adventures and new experiences. It’s always a little challenging to find a moment to catch one’s breath during the hectic guiding season! Again, there are simply too many highlights to specifically share, but many thanks to each and every one of you that came climbing last summer!

A friend asked me the other day what my highlights of 2025 were, and also what I was looking forward to in 2026. In the moment, I didn’t have the words - just a flash of moments passing through my mind’s eye. I still can’t articulate them all, but these picture represent some of my favorite moments of the first half of 2025. It was a great winter with some awesome powder days, killer days on ice and intriguing experiences in the alpine. The most amazing times were climbing again with @virginiamooreart and the experiences we shared with our children. I’m still at a loss for words, but the photos speak for themselves.

Winter is upon us! Time to shift gears for ice and snow now, get used to gripping tools and snowballs instead of rock and handlebars.
