After a year and a half of developing, testing and refining, we are so happy to finally introduce Flora! The Flora Armchair is the result of a collaboration between Swedish furniture maker Fogia, chef and restaurateur Esben Holmboe Bang – the man behind Oslo’s three-Michelin-star restaurant Maaemo – and Grung Engesvik. What started as a conversation about creating the ultimate dining chair has turned into an inspiring journey together. Our ambition was to create a chair that combines exceptional comfort with a light, elegant expression. A chair designed for long evenings around the table, where every detail matters. Designed for long evenings around the table, Flora offers the comfort of an armchair with the elegance of a dining chair. Its generous proportions, slender steel frame and carefully considered details create a chair that moves naturally with the body. We are incredibly happy to finally share Flora and grateful for the inspiring collaboration with Esben, Maaemo and the entire Fogia team! @esbennmedb @maaemo @fogiacollection @grungengesvik

Under @skoyen_designfestival ledet Bo Bedres redaktør @carolinekrager en talk i samarbeid med @exponova . Sammen med paneldeltakerne @andreas_engesvik @joearmitagedesign @zanatcraft og @kaiaeditions tok vi et dypdykk i temaet ‘Beyond the surface: craftsmanship, heritage and the true cost of quality’. Mange spennende perspektiver på hvordan de ulike designerne og merkevarene sørger for å beholde egenart og høy kvalitet på materialene, i en tid med mye fokus på optimalisering og skalering. Takk til panelet og til Expo Nova! Bilder: @olga0lga0lga

This is a must-read, from Smallbox Magazine Issue 1 - Beginnings Ferdinand was 14 when, last September, he dove into a public swimming pool during school hours. He began to drown before a friend managed to pull him out of the water. "I was conscious the whole time, and suddenly felt that I couldn't move. I thought: I've been paralyzed," says Ferdinand August Sølvberg. "When Ferdinand came out of the coma, one of the first things he said was: do we have to move now," says design curator and photographer Per Olav Sølvberg. The house sits in a heritage conservation zone; the goal was to preserve as much of the architecture as possible, while the 155 square meters across two floors accommodated two adults, four children and a 250-kilo wheelchair. As Per Olav began combing through the furniture market he'd worked in for years, he realized how much people needed to understand what universal design actually means. "Just to find I dining chair I looked at hundreds before I found out that @andreas_engesvik Bollo chair was perfect, The padding holds you snugly in place, because it's so compact, yet it has no hard surfaces against the skin," says Per Olav, explaining that skin pressed against something hard for more than 20 minutes develops a wound that can take months to heal due to the lack of circulation. Ferdinand feels enormous relief at being home again. "It changes your whole life to be able to have friends over in nice surroundings, where nothing looks like it's been specially adapted."
