First and foremost congratulations to Gabi for a brilliant season 💪🔥

Highlights include a super run to the 3rd Round of the Australian Open, a first WTA 500 semi final and that incredible Bad Homburg run where she played some of the best tennis I have ever seen her play and in sizzling conditions

Team Gabi has been a strong unit with @andreicociasu at the helm, I am convinced he has played a massive part on her mentality and game management. She got so close to reaching a new career high and I'm sure she will soon!

She will regret the other three Grand Slams and definitely her home tournaments in Cluj and Iasi but I am sure she will improve upon this next year and fill those missing links

You have twice voted for Gabi as 'Player of the Month' she is joint top with Sorana Cirstea and Maria Sara Popa, she can no longer win outright but you can still 'like' The Player of the Month reels in Story highlights to give her a small chance if Maria or Sorana do not win again and she gets more likes than Maria who has a sizable lead.

But the Phil Boosey WTA Romania Awards 2026 nominations are announced next month so Gabi fans keep an eye out to see if she's in any categories. She is also defending Fantasy WTA Romanian Finals Champion, this is returning in December so if you want Gabs to defend her crown make sure you play along 🙂

Overall Thank You Gabs for fighting, Never Surrendering, thrilling and entertaining - it's been an honour, a pleasure and exciting to be your fan

Take care Champ, Merry Christmas, good luck for Australia and see you at Cluj, maybe with an award or two?

In loving memory of @philipboosey of @wta_romania 🎾🇷🇴❤️

I have been saying all year I have total faith in 2026 Gabi 🥹 believing she will break the Top 50 and win another title before the presents go under the Christmas trees

She's so close now...

A dominant win today puts her in touching distance of a new career high and a Top 50 debut, it means taking down the Wimbledon Champion, Linda Noskova in the next round but Gabs is a big match player and knows she is capable of a huge upset, today's display will also boost the confidence 💪🔥

If it does not happen this week, and I believe in her always, it will happen soon.

Gabi will also be the Romanian Number Two when the official rankings are next released after the China Open and if Sorana Cirstea is true to her word (and we all hope she changes her mind, I'm sure even Gabi does) Gabi will start 2027 as the new Romanian Number One

She can tick two of the boxes this week, as for another title, I still believe and hope but delighted Gabi is so close to unlocking more doors, she really deserves it 🥹

She also is in a strong position to win The Phil Boosey WTA Romanian Player of the Year (see my other post for the latest permutations)

On a personal note, with my mother still in critical care and not conscious, thank you so much for fighting today Gabi, your win has given me so much comfort and strength during this very difficult week, it's a pleasure and honour to be your fan Champ and you have all my unconditional support and positive energy always

Never Surrender Gabs 💪🔥❤️

I am sorry but this really is not good enough from the Romanian Tennis Federation Instagram page!

Gabi was excellent yesterday, you may remember we were so impressed we jumped on live immediately to congratulate her.

She was playing in a WTA 1000, second highest tier tournament, there's only two Romanians in Toronto with Sorana Cirstea playing tomorrow. Gabi, off of the back of some disappointing results was incredible last night, bagel in set one and came back from 0-4 down in set two!

It took a whole day for them to acknowledge the Romanian Number 3's super win and when they did it was a 3 year old photo and barely any information about the match and how well she played.

Sorry to rant but it's not good enough, these are your players! They are brilliant and they deserve so much more.

I'm bloody proud of Gabs and she deserves so much more respect than that!
