Friday was my last day at Engage Video Group (@foodiesofsa) and what a journey it was!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I joined the company in the very early days +/- 3 years ago, after meeting the founder at a talk, and had the massive privilege of helping build what it is today.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ In that time I consolidated our social media strategy, invested a lot of time in building the Foodies of SA brand and community, initiated a bunch of influencer partnerships, came up with and pitched a TON of recipe ideas, lead a creative team, put together MANY pre-production documents, was involved in two book projects and helped finesse our product wherever possible.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The team is now 16 members strong and Foodies of SA has grown to be the largest food publisher in Africa and without a doubt, one of the best in the world!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ We published hundreds of the most viral branded videos in South African internet history and made some EPIC memories along the way! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Hats off to the most remarkable team @jon.ratcliffe @iamjuliebrown @andreinpictures @lorenwestoby @nshros @hayleymurison @jeanwinshaw @gemmascholtz @tlholo_x @thedevtrey2 @tlholo_x @plazm_za @cararust @siphe_98 ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ You guys are the business and I could not have asked for a better first job experience!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Next steps 👇⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I’ll be taking the next few months off to play, brush up on some skills and determine the path forward.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I’ll also be available for brand and social strategy consulting.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ If you would like to connect/catch up during this time, please get in touch!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 😊

We’ve been quietly working on this project for the last few months and finally...⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ PRE-ORDERS FOR FOODIES OF SA TOP 100 ARE OPEN!!⁣⁣⁣ 🎊⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Foodies of SA TOP 100 is a collection of 100 of our most recent, most viewed and most shared recipes!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ It’s a hard cover book, with a thick, matte paper stock and mind-blowing imagery! The images are more closely aligned with our videos this time around and we’ve incorporated QR codes in the book that conveniently link to videos on the @foodiesofsa Facebook platform, for step-by-step guidance as you cook.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ All royalties from this book will be donated to @breadlineafrica an incredible organisation that provides infrastructure to support early childhood development in Southern Africa and they will be using the funds to provide a much needed container kitchen for a pre-school in Khayelitsha.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Pre-ordering 1) secures you a signed copy of the book that will be delivered early October, ahead of public release and 2) is exclusively available to members of the Foodies of SA Facebook group.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Hit the link in my bio to join the group, access a discount code and place your pre-order!⁣ ⁣ Order your book before 5pm on Wednesday, 3 July and you could stand the chance of winning: 1) an additional, signed copy + 2) a comprehensive, personalised gift box compliments of the Foodies of SA team!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 💛
