Today is the birthday of my wonderful mom and I wish her a year full of blessings!! My mom is someone who have lived life with an intention within anything she does. She cares for her native country as much as for her adoptive one. She is always serving others, helping, giving, praying. It’s people like her who are able to make a difference in the world. It only takes one person, one action and one voice. My mom’s determination is admirable, and I believe that her grand-kids will understand how she has always lived with a mission to love, to teach, to help. Thanks to her, Flohely and I are in this country that by moving us here she has giving us a better life. You have always believed and your vision was beyond admirable.

She is fearless. She is strong. She is determined. She is loving and passionate. She is a perfectionist. She is a visionary. She is talented and crafty, and cooking and sewing seems so easy for her. She exemplifies a woman ahead of her times. She is adventurous {when In the 80s she traveled all around Europe by herself}. She is a woman of strong faith. She is unique, humble and kind. She is independent and she walks the walk. Today is my mom’s birthday and I wish her a healthy, safe, loving and fabulous birthday🎂🍰🍾🌟

Great afternoon of football ⚽️ today. Thanks to good friend and amazing football ⚽️ coach Chris Holmes who invited me on the Charlotte Celtic FC (sponsored by the Social House Irish Pub in Matthews, NC, gotta offer them your patronage)!

This spring, my son Kylito, despite battling injuries while being a tennis teaching professional, is playing on the same team. There was a moment his leg was telling him he had to take a pause, that Kyle Sr subbed in for Kylito. That was cool! I'm so lucky to have these moments.

This is 11 v 11 football on a full sized pitch (110 yds by 75) for 90 minutes! We played a team whose average age was early 20s captained by my Godson, the great Andrés Marcos, pictured here in between Kylito and me (who wasn't available to play this time).
Chris and I are 60+ with another of our major players in his early 50s. Anyhow, because numbers were down, I ended up having to play 75 minutes splitting my time in central midfield (brutal) and up top as a central forward.

I liked being allowed to play CF because I tried to press the shit out if the opponents back line as they were build their attack out of the back. I was credited with our side's 2nd goal which was the result of their mistake in clearing the ball.

In any case, I'm not as talented I'm footy as my son and God son, but I like to think I have enough football IQ to play very simple and clean. I like cutting passing lanes, being a nuisance on defense, and never allowing anyone to dribble past me. It was a real pleasure to be on the pitch with these guys. Once again, thank you Chris for connecting me to the team. I love and need all of your direction on the pitch. Up Celtic Charlotte!
