Still on beach time. This is Medal Monday.🏅

Our family needed this time away. To play and laugh and nap together. Be in our happy place. We’re so lucky to have the family and friends we do.

So many first timers.
So many PRs.
So many wins.
So much pride.

And me? Well, I crossed the finish line upright.. which is good, considering I partook in extra stops that had me feeling pretty sauced up by mile nine. (Mile 2 Malibu! What can I say, I was nervous for my husband.) 🤣

I’ll cherish this weekend forever, and can’t wait until the next one. Thank you for another excellent adventure.🎄

What a way to wrap up the 2024 season! One of my favorite weekends of the year, hands down. 🙌

This race holds a special place in my heart, mostly because of the crew and the much-needed time together. ❤️ It wasn’t my ‘A race’ this year, but I still set a secret time goal in my head—and then, an hour before leaving Pittsburgh, I somehow managed to either severely stove or break my toe. 🤦‍♀️ With that in mind, no real expectations, but @valruns4margs and I decided to stick together and run for the vibes and the fun—and that’s exactly what we did!

I didn’t hit that time goal, but I did manage an 8-minute PR, which is more than I could’ve asked for considering everything. The biggest win? How this race felt. Last year, it was a mental battle. This year, I enjoyed every moment. My body felt good (minus the toe, haha), and I could feel what marathon training had done for me!

2024’s been full of lessons, but it’s time to look ahead to what 2025 has in store. ✨ #SeasonWrap #PR #Growth #RunningForTheVibes #SeeYouIn2025

Pretend Medal Monday is today. I’m still catching up on sleep from this weekend. 🙃

Some much needed friend time at Oglebay with people who make you laugh so hard your cheeks and sides hurt.. and @gcxcpgh Spring Thaw at North Park with the best team benefiting @412foodrescue (and some aaaaamazing chicken noodle soup)! 🍜

Huge thanks to @briiiiilynn for making the trip up to the race with me and cheering us all on. So happy to log a few miles with @heatherstokesbittner and see so many friends doing what we all love to do. Biggest congrats to @samanthacarol57 who crushed her first 15 mile marathon training run feeling under the weather!

This weekend was a really good balance. It’s way too easy to get so wrapped up in training it feels like a job, and February was a huge reminder of that.

Ready to ring in March in the prime of my life. 🫶🏽

Medal mfing Monday 🏅

Two weekends ago, I got to watch an incredible race.

Some teammates crushed PRs and placed in their AG.
Some qualified for @ironmantri WC in New Zealand.
Some overcame injuries and obstacles.
And some blew this year out of the water and finished their FIRST 70.3s.

I say it every time, but I’m so proud of this family and the way they show up and chase their dreams every day. Whether they’re tired, hurt, sad.. doesn’t matter.

These people are amazing. 🔥

When I signed up for my first half marathon, I’m pretty sure everyone thought I was joking. I was “in shape”.. took spinning classes, rode my bike and ran occasionally, nothing serious.

I trained the best I knew how at the time and was excited to head down to Pittsburgh, but also bummed. I went by myself - no family or friends came, I knew no one. I had no idea what I was doing, it was just me.

That was a very humbling morning. Rained off and on; I did NOT dress appropriately. Brought a drawstring bag I figured I’d carry with me. Wore the wrong socks and got TERRIBLE blisters.

By mile nine, I was ready to throw in the towel and sat down on a curb. An older woman stopped and asked if I was okay. She held her hand out, helped me back up, and said she’d see me to the end.

I didn’t know her, she didn’t have to stop. What she did in that moment changed everything. All the support groups and signs I’d seen that morning made me feel bittersweet. They were cheering for their people, and I wished I had mine.

She made me pick my head up and pay attention.. they were cheering for ALL of us! As I hobbled through those last excruciating miles, everyone (including other runners) reassured me, “You got this!” “Almost there!”

It was inspiring and emotional, and when I crossed the finish line, I was far from alone. I joined an incredible community that offers nothing but motivation and encouragement.

I’ll never be the fastest runner. I’ll never place in my AG (or at all) and I couldn’t tell you if I PR’d because I don’t keep track of my times. I just have fun! It might be you vs. you on the course, but I’ll always be there with a joke, a snack, a drink, whatever you need to power through. I’ll forever pay forward what a stranger did for me that day that made me fall in love with this sport.

Grateful beyond words for this @victorymultisport fam and the opportunity to hype everyone up. It’s race season baby, LET’S GO! 🙌🏽
