Sometimes, you don’t realize you’re losing yourself until you’re already somewhere far away from who you used to be. You feel numb. You move through your days, but you don’t always feel present in them. Time passes without you noticing, memories become blurred, and reality starts to feel distant almost like you’re living inside a dream, watching yourself from the outside. Dissociation in the Quiet Fade is a project very close to my heart because it comes from a feeling I’ve experienced myself. That strange space between being here and not really feeling here at all, wanting to escape, disconnect, and disappear for a moment from everything that feels too overwhelming. I wanted to take something so personal and difficult to put into words and give it a form. Through fashion and film, I wanted to portray what dissociation feels like from the inside, the numbness, the distortion, the loss of self, and the blurred line between reality and the world you create in your mind. This film is my way of making that invisible feeling visible.
