March was a big competition month for Stronger Together Powerlifting. Collectively, we had 10 athletes participate in a slew of events of varying levels of competition from locals to provincials and regionals. At the Forge Deadlift Only competition: • Madi secured 1st place in the Women's divison with a 365lb Deadlift. 🥇 ($250 cash prize win 💸) • Andrew delivered a 3/3 performance and finished with a 415lb Deadlift, a +10lb PR 🤙 • Officially, Max went 3/3 with a 475lb pull, but 500 was there so we decided to send for it after the event. 💯 • Lindsey and Kate are two of my Masters lifters that never powerlifted before. I'm so proud of them for starting from an empty bar to each finishing with a 240lb deadlift respectively across the months of hard work leading up to this event.👯 At BCPA Provincials 2024 🏆 Morgan went 8/9 - finished with a 10kg total PR, her first 300lbs + Deadlift and 2nd Place in the 57 Opens 🥈 Fran also went 8/9 and placed 2nd in the JR 69kgs- she hit a new squat PR (117.5) and bested her previous total by 2.5kg. All while balancing a full academic workload and many person responsibilities. 🥈 Amy called this her "redemption meet". Well she went 8/9 and hit a big comp deadlift PR, won the JR 76 class and added 7.5kgs to her total with room. 🥇 Finally, at Westerns 2024 🏆 Sophie went 7/9, 2nd place in the JR 84s and also PR'd her total by 5kgs. We've been working a lot on her squat tech and I think we've found the right formula to build on this performance. 🥈 And last but not least, Amy went a very efficient 3/3 with no red lights. Amy was coming off of a big personal holiday trip so we couldn't exactly prep for this comp but we did what we came to do and now it's onto qualifying for Nats '24. Congrats to everyone else that I got to handle/work with at Provincials and the Deadlift comp I appreciate all the trust that is put onto me from y'all. Thanks for reading, Lots of love and onto the next 🫶 #StrongerTogether #StrengthInCommunity #STPowerlifting
