No longer are we chanting "Alex has a girlfriend" for the group photo. This one was "Alex has a wife"!

Spent last weekend surrounded by loved ones to celebrate the love between @alynn152 and @halliebranham_ 💜

As per usual for me, no pictures of the bride and groom. Left that to the professionals 😂. But I did get some pictures from the night before and the big day! I witnessed so much joy and happiness in just those two days that made my heart full 💜💜

If you know me, you know history and design are my two first loves and when we went to Japan back in April we knew this house was top on the list!
The Kyu Asakura House is tucked away in the Daikanyama district of Tokyo. The home was built in 1919 and stands as a stark contrast to the tech-forward world spinning around it. Surviving earthquakes and the bombings of WWII, it’s one of few traditional homes left in Tokyo.
We walked through the home in awe, over creaking floorboards and tatami mats, peaking through windows to the sea of moss outside.
Complete tranquility found in the largest city in the world, and a home I continue to refer back to for inspiration.

Officially one month of working as an interior designer at @tacomainteriors ‼️
Following @shannondianalynn around like her little shadow observing projects she’s been working on for literal years has been easily the best job I’ve had. Visiting job sites, pulling samples, and organizing concept boards—Lately I find myself looking like the second photo, oozing excitement that I get to do THIS as a career.
Shannon started out as family, turned friend, and now mentor and I just couldn’t be more grateful.
How fun that this is just the beginning ✨

And so the year turns once again ✨

We bought our first home (slowly chipping away at projects), welcomed new babies, experienced loss, celebrated our first anniversary, visited my long-distance best friend twice (!), and next week I’m entering my final quarter in school for interior design.
At the beginning of the year I could hold Archie with one arm, now he’s king of the neighborhood.

I’ve been lucky to have been mentored by the best: @tacomainteriors and @cupboardandclay
Watching and learning from these experts has been completely transformative as I begin my design journey and I truly couldn’t be more grateful.
From visiting showrooms, studying design history, geeking out over new programs and innovations—I feel so lucky to surrounded by what I love.

Cheers to change, being challenged, and a new year 🥂
