Ain’t no barbecue like a Brown family barbecue. South London bringing the sunshine, Browns bringing the fun. #familytime

Vineyard Number 2 - Cable Bay, Waiheke 🌱

I first came here 7 ish years ago and instantly fell in love with it, and I didn’t even work in wine then. So to come back here with some of my favourite people already made it special.

They’re located on the West Coast of Waiheke Island boasting beautiful views over the sea 🌊

Whilst relative young (their first vineyard was planted in 1998) they got off to a flying start when their first vintage of Chardonnay in 2002 won gold at the IWC!

1st picture - 100% Chardonnay, Rocky Vineyard, Awatere Valley, Marlborough. From grapes grown on 24 year old vines, this wine was concentrated with a lovely vibrancy running through. Notes of lime, pear and a nutty creaminess all add up to exactly what I want from a Chard 🤌🏻

Not pictured - absolutely outstanding Pinot Gris and Viognier. We managed to bring some home to London which I already can’t wait to open.

THE FOOD - a relatively small menu but truly something for everyone, perfect for sharing or getting your own meal if sharing isn’t your vibe. Everything was incredibly vibrant and fresh, showcasing seasonal produce from their kitchen garden on the property. I’ve not had many better views when having lunch if I’m honest.

All in all, this was such a special stop to share with some of my favourite people. A day to remember forever!
