The Allergies - New Dimension 💥

Had fun making this ‘lockdown’ style video which took us back a few years to those crazy times! But hey, it’s a format that worked so why not? 🤷🏼‍♂️

New Dimension was originally named ‘Space Cowboy’ in the demo phase and it seems to have taken on some of that vibe for sure! 😂

You can stream and buy it on our new album ‘Beneath This Sun’ ☀️

And you’ll be able to see this one live on our upcoming tour so make sure you’ve secured your tickets 🎫

We’re about to lift off and start the long and anticipated ‘Beneath This Sun Tour’ starting in November! 🎵

Highlights along the way include a new venue in Manchester, Concord 2 in Brighton (never played there) and a double show in London on the same day! 💥

But there’s plenty more and we can’t wait to see you all 🤗

Get your tickets soon, this has been on sale for a long time and some venues will sell out soon! X

10 years ago, I released Sulu and Excelsior’s debut album, “Eddie Romero.” Having been in my OG mothership band @abandcalledpic since the late 90s, Sulu and Excelsior was essentially a solo recording project that I started working on when my two sons were babies, and I would start working on writing, then recording, in the middle of the night. I started writing songs initially for a film that I was writing, a genre-mashing sound where I was singing and crooning just as much as I was rapping. And I was able to play all the instruments myself which was something I wasn’t able to do in a traditional band setting. Playing piano, guitar, bass , trumpet, making beats…. It was like a musical playground.

And 10 years later, it’s so cool that this project has taken on its own life, and what used to be a totally DIY project has become so collaborative in the most unexpected ways.

That’s why @sharpcheddar856 and I decided to commemorate the album with “Eddie Re-Romero,” a remix album that is the epitome of collaboration! 36 remixes of songs spread across 3 volumes with 30 different producers, rappers and singers. Working with new artists not only on the musical side but also for the #albumart - it’s been such a cool way to meet and work with new, ultra cool folks. These next coming weeks you’ll for sure be hearing more about all these awesome projects.

In the meantime, here are some pics from today and 10 years ago! From @adamcharityaudio and I working on some mastering today, to handcrafting artwork for Eddie Re-Romero, all the way to images from our very first live performance 10 years ago at the album release party (beautifully snapped by @jbsankara ) it sums up the journey of this album so far! Big thanks to those of you who have read all the way here, and much gratitude to everyone that’s listened to the music, watched the videos and have come out to catch us live over the years!

Crazy to think that next week marks the 10 year anniversary of Sulu and Excelsior’s debut album, “Eddie Romero.” 10 years ago I also met Matt Horowitz @sharpcheddar856 aka The Witzard when he reviewed the album, and debuted one of its music videos. So it’s only fitting that we’ve teamed up with Matt and The Witzard to celebrate Sulu and Excelsior’s debut with an epic remix album named “EDDIE RE-ROMERO”!!! And this is truly an epic release - 3 volumes, 36 songs, and 30 contributing producers and featured performers from the east coast to the west coast to Tokyo and London and beyond. I am truly humbled by the work and time these talented artists gave to this album- I still smile in disbelief that our music has been able to spawn so much creativity. Stay tuned as we’ll be telling you much more about the project and our amazingly talented collaborators in these next few weeks leading up to the release of the first volume. In the meantime, feel free to give the OG album a spin for old times sake!

We’ve got a proper run of UK shows lined up from November through to January, hitting some of our favourite cities and venues along the way.

We kick things off in Manchester at Amber’s, then head to Leeds, Brighton, Southampton, Cardiff, Birmingham and Nottingham before making our way to Frome and Norwich.

December brings London for two shows at the Jazz Cafe, followed by a big hometown night at The Spiegel Tent in Bristol on 19th December. ❤️

Then it’s north for the final stretch — Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow, where we’ll finish the tour at Stereo on 16th January.

We’re taking the new ‘Beneath This Sun’ tunes out with us alongside plenty of old favourites, and we’re putting together a proper live show for these dates.

15 shows. 14 cities. New tunes. Old favourites. Sweaty dancefloors.

Would be bloody lovely to see some familiar faces along the way. ❤️

🎟️ Tickets are on sale now — see you down the front!
