Favorite music moments 2024, Part 2: I feel so, so lucky to be here, to get to play music with my friends and help Farewell Transmission Radio put on shows. This year was a FEAST.

1. Getting to go to my first Blue Ox (as a Converge volunteer) and see Humbird glitter in the rain.

2. Eau Claire selling out two Bizhiki shows on their inaugural run. More timeline break-off moments.

3. Singing to MJ Lenderman at Stone’s Throw, knowing how many people came together to make a little show on a skyrocketing tour happen. (Ask me for the story of what those absolute gems did for a couple fans/volunteers that night when you see me next.)

4. Playing Farewell Friendsgiving with Courtney Hartman (and Temple) at Abraxas. (Photo by @caldid .)

5. Seeing how Jordy pulled the community together to celebrate Jon Paulson’s folk classic “Buffalo River” with an Elstran documentary and Luke Callen-led singalong. Living here means regularly experiencing things that you previously thought only existed in the last tears-and-applause scenes of your favorite feel-good indie dramedies.

6. Playing with Luray in my second home, Shift. (Photo by Evelyn Nelson.)

7. Making crazy holiday sounds with the TriSarahTops and friends (thanks for being game) at The Lakely. I’m a grinch, but you all made my heart grow 3+ sizes.

I could have listed so many more, but I’ll stop now and just say I love you all. So much.

🌊 NEW SONG 🌊 🌊NEW RECORD🌊

Hi Friends - it's been a minute. I wanted to drop in and let you know that Mounder was in the tune-lab earlier this year and recorded 6 (SIX) songs produced by Dexter Wolfe at his beautiful studio in North Minneapolis.

The result is a record titled "Breakers" (🌊🌊) that will be out on 10/7.

I started writing these songs shortly after the release of the first Mounder EP FOUR years ago. I'm very proud of this record and am in constant awe of the talent of my friends who agreed to contribute. This time around Mounder is:

Graham Scott McCullough
Andy Hofer
Karl Markgraf VIII
Pat Keen
Dave Power

Sincere gratitude to all of you who have asked "when is the next Mounder album dropping?" over the years. I feel so lucky to have you listen. 10/7 is weeks away but in the meantime, please go stream the opening track "NOT NOT OK" on your music service of choice:

I love working with like-minded, creative, open, talented musicians.. just spent a good chunk of the last month with @_mikekinsella @hansonzj and special guests making music and living on takeout. Be on the lookout in 2020 y’all.

Our bud @andyhofer31 played trombone on the recording of "Slow Down Ego", and it's been pretty lovely to have him sit in on the SDE live performance at all three of our Eau Claire shows this year.
.
Hope you are all finding some zen moments to relax and recharge this week over the holidays. ✌️

This is Moon Ruin playing at Pine Hollow the other night. We have finagled our way into some pretty sweet gigs since we started Soul Brewed and music has always been a great love of ours. Serving coffee out at these Pine Hollow shows is a true, TRUE pleasure. I’m confident we have witnessed some of the greatest, most intimate shows ever played in the Eau Claire area. Many thanks to Evan and Laura Middlesworth for always having us out there and putting on these shows. Also, shoutout to the Hof for absolutely killing it in the trombone. ❤️🌲☕️
