I finished binging the miniseries "The English" last night. I really enjoyed it! The English is an emotionally moving heartwrenching tale of an Englishwoman and an ex-calvary scout's paths intersecting as they go on a journey throughout the wild west.

The script written by director Hugo Blick is absolutely fantastic and deals with the horrors and injustices of the time. It's a tale of grief, revenge, redemption, and love. It also deals with spirituality and the Native American culture. I think the show is really about the spiritual journey and the human soul. The characters are complex, flawed, some characters easy to hate, and some easy to like. It's a show that can warm your heart, break your heart, and even disturb you with its harsh reality.

The phenomenal performances by Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer are so powerful that it completely and utterly captivates you. The journey and relationship between the characters is beautiful. You also have a fantastic supporting cast, including Rafe Spall, Stephen Rea, Tom Hughes, Ciaran Hinds, Toby Jones, Gary Farmer, Kimberly Norris Guerrero, Steve Wall, and Tonantzin Carmelo.

The show's action scenes are exciting and very stylized. The show is also one of the most visually stunning vibrant westerns I've ever seen with breathtaking cinematography by Arnau Valls Colomer. It has a sort of arthouse feel to it. The art direction(Fernando Contreras Diaz, Antonio Calvo Dominguez, Gabriel Liste), set decoration(Laura Musso), and costume design(Phoebe De Gaye) is terrific. The show has a riveting score by Federico Jusid and is wonderfully edited by Ben Yeates and Andy Morrison. Hugo Blick did an excellent job directing this gripping bold western that I highly recommend.
