🎶 Last of the Year-End Roundup: Local Rooms & Community Spaces
Closing out the year with the venues and spaces that remind me why I started doing this in the first place.
Deep Ellum Art Co. is where I really got my start, and every time I’m back it feels like a homecoming. This year I shot Joe Marcinek with Twenty Hounds, Electrik Ants, Mason Adams Project, Thought Diet, and Sewing Jar there—each show reinforcing why that room continues to be such a vital part of the local scene.
In Denton, I photographed The Infamists during the closing weekend of Andy’s Bar—a band I’ve been shooting since the beginning—along with Hen and the Cocks, a high-powered punk band bringing raw energy and urgency. It was an especially meaningful moment at a venue that’s played a huge role in the North Texas music ecosystem.
I also had my first shoot at Zounds Sounds B-Sides, capturing Motorcade in a new space already carving out its own identity.
For the cover of the Dallas Observer, I headed to The Freeman, a club currently under fire but still an important, community-rooted room, to photograph The Freeloaders—a reminder of how much smaller venues continue to matter to the scene.
It was an amazing year, and the schedule for next year is already starting to fill up. Happy New Year—and don’t forget, today is the last day to nominate for the @dallasentertainment awards. 🎶📸✨

Today is WORLD VIOLIN DAY!!!!
It has been a long journey. For those who know me, know that 4 is my favorite number and this year marks 14 years of me playing this instrument!! I didn’t sign up for orchestra originally. I wanted to be in band and play the saxophone but God had other plans. 🤣 I am so grateful for every teacher, Professor, mentor that I have had that has influenced my journey. I am so busy and exhausted while making this post but what a wonderful thing to be tired from doing the thing that you love. This wooden block with strings has allowed me to play with professional orchestras around the country, and collaborate with so many different artists. I am so excited to share with you all what comes next! For now, swipe for a throwback lol 💜🎻

“Misery” is one an oldie but a fun one and will also be one of our upcoming releases. Go to our YouTube channel to watch the whole video/set from our last @andysdenton show we did back in January.
📷 @slicefury (you’re amazing)

We don’t have anything on the books for the rest of the year, sadly our only summer shows have been postponed until further notice. If you wanna play a show with us, shoot us a dm or an email
Thank you all for your love and support, we have been rather quiet lately but you can still catch @sunnymarcell out and about!
