Welcome to @andyspaints a world where pop culture, pink, and nostalgia come together.
Kelly Anderson’s art is loud, layered and impossible to ignore. Her work is less about perfection and more about energy, expression, and women who take up space.

ANGEL SPOTLIGHT👼🏼🪽
This week we asked senior Kelly Anderson about her business, @andyspaints, and here’s what she had to say!

“My business unintentionally began in 2021 when I painted a canvas for my own room and had the idea to post it on my Instagram story to sell (just for fun). I was so surprised and excited when I saw that dozens of girls messaged me about it, some of whom even asked me to make them something custom in case it had already been sold. And of course I said yes!! From there, I created a new Instagram account, @andyspaints, where I’ve been posting ever since. Looking back, I never would have thought it was possible to make a job out of a lifelong hobby that is so special to me. I’ve now made 100+ custom art commissions for people in 15+ states around the US! I love that art is not something that can be done impersonally, without personal growth and challenges, or without passion, which always makes the result rewarding. Each piece I work on is special to me because I know it’s special to the customer, and it’s so fulfilling to see my work bring someone else happiness! I create my art to be fun, eccentric, and evoke the softness and power of women. I always include personal elements; every phrase that I paint is something that resonates with me or relates to femininity. I often include phrases like “protect your peace” and “take up space” because, as someone who has struggled with mental health throughout my life, these reminders have always grounded me when I’m struggling. I think this makes my art intimate, and I hope that it could be impactful to anyone who sees a piece of mine hanging up, wherever it may be. I’ll never say no to a request because I love to trial new styles and media, and I’m so grateful my art and its customers allow me to explore new things!”

We are so proud of you Kelly!🎨🖌️🫶🏼
