It's a wrap on the Television Academy Board of Governors retreat. We were fortunate to have it in-person. All tested for the past two days and masks worn indoors. All worth it to meet an incredible bunch of people. It's going to be an incredible year for the @televisionacad and for our commercial peer group. @tvacad_commercials #emmys #televisionacademy #boardofgovernors @shortlistmgmt

Brandy Cole is one of the hard-working members of our PGEC.
While we are thankful for the entire PGEC, today we focus on Brandy.

Originally hailing from the Cole Compound Ranch in Weatherford, TX and now in LA. She says: “I went from farm to fancy. I became a member of the of the TV Academy (after a nudge from a couple of members) because to a kid on the ranch this world seemed unattainable. We did not watch much TV (I still have never seen Seinfeld) but when we did it was a big deal. Watching award shows was even bigger. I do not take being part of the Television Academy for granted. It is an honor I adore and hope one day to bring my parents to the EMMYs. Though it was not an event (it was an event for me and my Dad) I brought my Dad to watch a movie at the Wolf Theater. He was so excited! I love being part of the PGEC. I love seeing and celebrating amazing work that our peers and colleagues work on.”

In her day job, Brandy currently is the VP of Marketing and Communications at Wayfarer Studios, an independent financial and production engine pioneering purpose driven, multi-platform productions that elevate and speak to the human spirit. If you run across Brandy, take some time to get to know her, she will brighten your day.

🙏 Gratitude for our PGEC. 🙏

We have a fab Peer Group Executive Committee (PGEC) & want to pick up introductions to those who are on this committee serving everyone in our Peer Group.

One member who always brings great insight & many smiles for the past four years is TK Knowles. If you don't know TK, make it a priority to meet him. He is the executive producer/managing partner at Bob Industries. Bob is a company working in entertainment, advertising, commercials & digital content comprised of directors, producers, writers & partners who seek to tell great stories that touch & satisfy the viewer.

TK shared a few things about himself, Bob and his thoughts about the Academy: "We started Bob in 1998 with the hope to just make a few cool ads – feels great to still be making them 22 years later! I credit that to working with people you like & respect & who are amazingly talented! (smile). I joined the Academy because I was interested in being part of representing our community in the TV Academy & to be part of introducing new people to our Peer Group. I love being a part of the PGEC, it's a great group who all want to see our role in the Academy grow and recognize all of the great work that is being produced. I especially like when we have meetings where Rich (Carter) cooks! (smile)"
