A powerful lady is someone who isn’t afraid to share her opinion and speak her truth. She is someone who listens, who is filled with kindness, integrity, compassion, generosity, and authenticity. Our 2021-2022 e-board members embody all of those traits. As the Powerful United Ladies Striving To Elevate at the University at Buffalo it is our mission to educate, elevate, and empower our student body and create a safe space where we can come together to dialogue and share our opinion on topics that affect and shape women of color. Here's to our powerful ladies, Liryc, Ariel, Di’ajanae, kayla, Nicole, Ijeoma, Yaide, Ifeoma, Jenniah, and Tania, who make it their mission to be true powerful ladies; and most importantly here’s to our founders, Khadi, Angela, and Esther who truly embody what it means to be a powerful lady as they came together in 2019 to create a safe space for women of color, a space where we can share our struggles, our accomplishments, and our honest opinions. 💞💞

Ten years of no you, ten years of no us
Ten years of no memories, ten years of no physical touch
A day that was meant to break me has given me lots of strength
I feel so protected here on earth I have god and you to thank
So I’ll keep soaring on with my heart filled with love
One day I’ll see you again, a day that will be filled with hugs
I am a woman now, but I’ll always be your baby girl
You are my forever Angel, heaven sent into my beautiful world.

I wrote this little poem about a month ago and the words honestly just came to me. I’m so at peace with my fathers transition into heaven & I am sure he’s with me at all times. Rest In Peace daddy, I miss you so much.. 🖤 🕊
