2024 was insane. I finally moved back to California, met the most perfect man, traveled a ton, had several adventures with some of my favorite people, made new friends and reconnected with old ones. All in all….pretty sick. I couldn’t get everything in one post so I’ll probably post another. 2025, you better kick copious amounts of butt 🥳

June 1, 2019 … I saw a fresh spark in my eyes while in Brooklyn, NY with my queen of my world ammmmmmazzzzing Siztah Angie the morning after we saw Bikini Kill perform (their first reunion mini tour).

I hold so many memories of that real magic in the real world weekend in the center of my heart. It’s true soul food and true soul fuel that truly sparks the center of my heart!

Immigration is a core principle this country was built on + what has made us beautiful and unique. It’s complex + the path to becoming a citizen is broken on so many levels. What it hasn’t been is inhumane + lawless. But here we are, in a no rules catastrophe stirred by a clear dictator. We know Trump targeted LA because he’s petty + hates us, but the truth is Trump cares about no city — he cares about NO ONE but himself.

The immigration process has been broken for a LONG time + we need to be hyper conscious of the extremely false narratives being spread here. Every immigration situation is different. There are bad actors in all communities but one thing I know is for sure — some of the most wonderful, god-fearing + grateful people I’ve met have been both documented + undocumented immigrants. It’s a core belief of being 🇺🇸 — a land of promise you can come to + create a better life in. It’s NOT an immediate process and anyone who has been through it knows how hard it is and how complex the system is. Maybe DOGE could have taken a look at how to improve this — but I guess white South African immigrants don’t count.

The issue is simple: his current approach is inhumane, thuggish behavior (totally against protocol btw) cruising swiftly into fascism.

First it’s undocumented, next it’s anyone who isn’t white, or queer — or women.

If it seems hyperbolic to make that claim — remember that we’re not even 6 mos in + open a history book…it’s reoccurring. The longer we wait to resist or sit in apathy, the deeper the cut gets. Cruelty is not a strong position, it shows how weak we’ve become.

Yesterday I marched in a peaceful protest defending that right until the guard threw tear gas at all of us + took out the rubber bullets. It wasn’t out of control and so many people volunteered + were handing out water + supplies to keep order. It wasn’t a riot like the national news wants to feast on — it was humans in outrage of criminal behavior by our “president” exercising thier First Amendment rights.

Every voice matters. This administration want us to fear — be brave.
