BEYOND PINK 🩰 Set within the conceptual space of a dance studio, this photographic project reconsiders the canonical image of the ballerina and the Western French fashion aesthetic historically associated with purity, discipline, and idealized perfection. By challenging the symbolism of immaculate whiteness and classical grace, the work proposes an alternative visual language that moves beyond established norms of fragility and refinement. Through stylistic hybridization — combining Victorian and antique references, theatrical drapery, and echoes of circus iconography — the project constructs a temporally fluid aesthetic grounded in transformation. Embodied by a subject of African origin, the images introduce a critical re-centering of the body within a traditionally codified space, opening new perspectives on beauty, fashion, and representation.
