What an honor to share my film at the Santa Cruz Film Festival. 🎬

Seeing it on the big screen for the first time, playing harp for you afterward, and hearing how much it meant to people is something I’ll carry with me. I’m so grateful for how warmly it was received.

Thank you to Michael Daniel for directing and editing, and to Emily McLaughry for filming. Thank you to Lola Lovebyrd, Angela Chesnut and the Santa Cruz Film Festival, and to everyone who was a part of this film and showed up with support. I couldn’t have done this without you. 🙏

That was the first chapter. Next, the film premieres online this November so friends in other states and countries can watch it together.

Date coming soon. Subscribe to my YouTube channel (link in bio) so you don’t miss it.

Last weekend in Santa Cruz County was a feast for the senses, with the annual Santa Cruz Film Festival and Open Studios just two of many offerings. I was honored to introduce two films with deep meaning for me, and to moderate the panel discussion of community heroes featured in the films. “Never the Last Love Letter” is a documentary about the Santa Cruz AIDS Project, one of the first in the nation, and was developed and produced by the Diversity Center. “Love is the Drug” was first brought to Santa Cruz by the Harm Reduction Coalition, and tells the beautiful story of early harm reduction efforts in our community. Big thanks to all who brought these stories to life!

Yesterday I had the honor of being part of a beautiful celebration honoring JANUS and 50 years of service to the recovery community. It was a meaningful event celebrating recovery, connection, and the people who make this community so special.

I was grateful to be a proud sponsor and to play the harp, helping bless the space with music and a little extra love.

I’m proud to be continuing to deepen my own recovery and find meaningful ways to be of service through music and connection.

A huge thank you to JANUS, Angela Chesnut, Amber Williams, and everyone who helped make this beautiful event possible. I’m truly grateful to have been part of such a meaningful celebration. ❤️🎶

🚗💙 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Santa Cruz County Chief Probation Officer Sandra Mendez and former Chief Probation Officer Fernando Girardo for their leadership in securing Community Corrections Partnership (AB 109) funding for Janus.

This investment made it possible to purchase two vehicles and support a dedicated case manager for our LITE Residential Program, expanding access to transportation for up to 12 residents. Reliable transportation is essential for connecting clients with employment, medical appointments, recovery services, and other resources that support long-term success.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Mike Horne of Sunset Auto Sales, and Larry Cohen and Mitch Lake of Choice Motors, for their partnership in helping bring this project to life.

Together, we're creating pathways to recovery, stability, and hope—one ride at a time. 💙
