POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Anyone can share the final product. The real story is everything it takes to get there.

At LaJoy Creative, the details matter, the time matters, and the work behind the scenes matters.

Our Founder, @belajoyful, has a knack to never let a detail go unnoticed or a moment go unscheduled. Because of her extraordinary leadership skills, the #LaJoyasphere can gracefully follow suit, making all of your event dreams become reality. These experiences don’t happen by accident. Let us be the ones to coordinate the intention, preparation, and execution.

I’ve been thinking about this lately (and yes, I am still thinking about it even though this was taken a few weeks ago when I was still in Paris.)

When a friend is waiting for love, we never tell them to lower their standards. We remind them that they’re worthy of a relationship that honors who they are. So why do we tell entrepreneurs to discount their work, settle for the wrong clients, or accept opportunities that don’t align?

Perhaps your business deserves the same patience you would encourage someone else to have. The waiting season isn’t wasted if you’re using it to refine your craft, strengthen your foundation, and become even clearer about the value you bring.

What are you building while you’re waiting? Your business deserves the clients who recognize its value.

While Melva @belajoyful directed from Paris, the #LaJoyasphere was on the ground in Washington, D.C., producing the Joint Center’s highest attended Future of Black Communities Summit to date.

From thought-provoking conversations on AI and the future of work to bringing together leaders committed to advancing Black communities, this was more than an event. It was a gathering designed to shape what comes next.

Days like these remind us that the strength of LaJoy Creative has never been one person. It’s a team of professionals who show up with excellence, wherever the work calls us. Congratulations, @JointCenter. Thank you for trusting us with such an important milestone!

Let’s talk about DC for a moment.

There is something deeply meaningful about producing an event for a mission-driven organization in the city that raised our founder Melva LaJoy Legrand (@belajoyful). Celebrating 30 years of @edtrust was more than another production. It was a full-circle moment rooted in Purpose, Place, and Possibility.

To our creative partners, thank you for helping us bring this vision to life with the professionalism, elegance, and care it deserved. And to @edtrust, thank you for trusting the #LaJoyasphere to help celebrate three decades of advocating for educational equity.

This story is far from over. Stay tuned. We’re not finished talking about this one.

World class events with homegrown organizations. We are proud to serve those in the industry of servicing others.

This night celebrating better mental health and honoring @sherrisheppard with @peerhealthexchange wasn’t one to forget.

Being part of the LaJoyasphere is more than work. It is filled with laughter, lessons and mutual respect and love.

It is certainly not for everyone but rather, only for those who carry passion, purpose, humility and a spirit of gratefulness. It is a team that pushes when things get hard and supports each other even when it is not convenient.

The meetings. The brainstorms. The last-minute pivots. The wins worth celebrating. Allow us to show you what it really takes. IFYKYK. #watchuswork

Happy Tuesday from Paris.

As my team prepares for another incredible event with a treasured and 7-year long LaJoy Creative client, I’m reminded that one of the greatest lessons of this season has been learning that leadership doesn’t always require your constant presence. Sometimes, it requires your trust.

In my conversation with Canvas Rebel, I shared something I’m actively unlearning: the belief that I always have to be “on.”

For years, I equated productivity with worth. But spending time in Paris has challenged me to see success differently.

❤️‍🩹 I still care deeply.
📣 I still lead with intention.
💯 I still expect (and deliver) excellence.

But I’ve also learned that making space to simply be has made me a better leader, a better creative, and a better human.

That lesson is only possible because of the remarkable people who make up the #LaJoyasphere. Watching this team continue to do extraordinary work while I cheer them on from across the Atlantic is one of the greatest joys of building something bigger than yourself.

Know this: The strongest leaders don’t build businesses that depend on them. They build teams they believe in. The full interview dedicated to my parents is linked in my bio. #WatchUsWork

Her Dad once told me that she was “His Angel…”

Today we take a moment to scream Happy Birthday to our curious, always happy, newly graduated (high honors by the way) and engaged Angelina Hagstrom.

Angelina is exactly who you meet. There is nothing fake. She loves BIG especially her mamma, her man and her bestie little sis. She prides herself of being the big sister. She much to my surprise enjoys camping (she is on a trip right now) and she loves to learn. And I am going to say her favorite thing may be napping with a close second to a filet steak and a delicious vegan treat.

So today we say Happy Birthday Angelina. We thank your parents (Lorraine and Curt) for pouring into you - their angel so that you can share your unique light and gifts with the world.

Birthday Blessings beauty.

Every event deserves a moment that surprises the room.

For EdTrust’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, that moment belonged to Dem Raider Boyz led by their incredible Coach Richard Melvern.

Their performance brought an unmistakable energy to the evening—dynamic, joyful, and impossible to ignore. Representing Eleanor Roosevelt High School, these young men reminded everyone in attendance that talent, discipline, and pride can transform a celebration into an unforgettable experience.

At LaJoy Creative, we believe the most impactful events balance elegance with the unexpected. It’s those moments that spark standing ovations, bring generations together, and leave guests talking long after the lights go down.

To Dem Raider Boyz: thank you for bringing your passion, your precision, and your powerful presence to this milestone celebration. You were a highlight of the night, and we were honored to help create the stage for your brilliance.
