Lower body plyometric movements utilize some form of triple extension to produce powerful actions.

Broadly speaking, triple extension refers to the explosive generation of power produced by the simultaneous extension of the hips, knees, & ankles.

In slow-mo, you can see this action take place as the client performs the hang power clean. Overall, the goal for this phase of this clients training program is to (re-) learn how to perform the clean movement and to build general strength.

Dedication and determination allowed my veteran client @angieplusdavis to get back to her previous training status.

Many times clients have hills and valleys during their training journey, causing them to lose the gains they’ve made throughout the process.

However, it is the coaches job to redirect them back onto their training path—though difficult and challenging at times—I constantly remind them of the why they began their training journey.

All my clients will tell you that I have high expectations from them, and that I will call them out on anything less than.

My clients feed off that pressure, and as a result they not only see the physical results, but gain the confidence and competency to perform resistance training movements.

Building back her lower body strength using the low bar squat and band barbell hip thrust exercises. The journey to 1.5xBW for low bar squat looks good so far.

Low Bar Squat: 130lbsx4
Band BB Hip Thrust: 205x5

The last two years would’ve been near impossible without these people (missing a few)!

I am forever grateful for their friendships, letting me complain, all the teamwork to conquer schoolwork, and never letting me forget when assignments are due.

I can’t wait to see where their dietetics career takes them 💖
