Substantial hardware. An arched frame. Wood with a story of its own. This door at The House of the Songbird began as a fallen oak from the homeowner’s family home, carrying history through the threshold and into the next chapter.

Come in and stay awhile.

#periodarchitecture #designingbeautifulplaces #entrancedoor #foyerdesign #villanovapa An entryway with an arched wooden front door at the center, opened slightly to reveal a bright garden outside. The door has raised panels, dark metal hinges, and a brass handle and lock. Exposed dark wooden ceiling beams span the ceiling, while a rough stone wall lines the right side of the room. A black chandelier hangs overhead. On the left is an upholstered armchair, and on the right is a wooden console table topped with stacked books, a vase, and a potted fern. Warm wood flooring extends throughout the space, with sunlight entering through the open doorway.

Calling all residential architects! We are looking for talented individuals who share our passion for beautiful, thoughtful design.

Our studio in the heart of Doylestown is hiring! Join our collaborative and energetic team that genuinely loves what we do (and each other’s company—yes, we actually like hanging out!). We geek out over historic details, obsess over craftsmanship, and take real pride in seeing a design through from first sketch to final walkthrough. If that sounds like your kind of people, keep reading.

Motivated professionals with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and experience in single-family residential design are encouraged to apply. Not local to Bucks County? Don’t let that stop you—we’re open to discussing relocation for the right fit. In return, you’ll get generous benefits, real room to grow, and a salary that reflects your experience... plus a team that will celebrate your wins with you.

Know someone (or ARE someone) who’d be a great fit? Send your resume and portfolio to info@periodarchitectureltd.com, or visit the link in our bio to learn more. We’d love to hear from you!

Among stone homes and turning leaves, fall finds its footing on Philadelphia’s Main Line.

#periodarchitecture #designingbeautifulplaces #stonehome #historicdistrict #mainlinepa A fieldstone house stands behind a manicured lawn and landscaped flower beds in the fall. The two-story home has mottled gray and brown stone walls, a slate shingle roof, three dormer windows, and a tall stone chimney. White paned windows with dark louvered shutters line the façade. At the center is a wooden front door beneath a portico supported by Doric columns. A glass-enclosed, two-story wing extends to the left of the image. Evergreen trees, shrubs, red and white mums, and a partly sunny sky surround the house.
