Sheridan Taphorn and I represented @noozhawk at the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce Constellation Awards, along with former #noozhawk and now Unity Shoppe CEO Angela Miller-Bevan. Among the last men standing in the way of the show starting were — of course — BFF Jim Youngson way back there and my friend, Santa Barbara city councilman and mayoral candidate, Eric Friedman. Congrats to all of the night’s honorees, but especially our CPAs, Carola Nicholson and Tony Vallejo, and their A Team at Business of the Year Nicholson & Schwartz! This past Friday, November 7th, we attended the Philanthropy Fridays kickoff at the beautiful Folded Hills Winery Tasting Room, benefiting the Unity Shoppe. It was such a pleasure speaking with Angela Miller-Bevan, Executive Director & CEO of the Unity Shoppe, whose dedication and heart continue to make a difference for so many.
The Unity Shoppe plays an integral role in our Santa Barbara community — serving local families, seniors, and children in need year-round. We’re grateful for organizations like this that remind us what community truly means.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since I moved out of Denver and returned to sunny California. I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you I had the privilege of meeting over the past four years in Denver. You are truly amazing, and I’ll forever cherish the memories we made together.

Even though I only have a few pictures to look back on, please know that each of you holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for helping me grow—not just professionally, but as a person and a friend.

I never imagined that one city could have such a profound impact on my life. Because of Denver, I have an incredible job and experiences I’ll never forget.

This isn’t goodbye—just a simple “see you soon.” I love you, Denver. You’ll always be a part of me.

🌹 @unityshoppesb is unique organization that provides food, clothing, furniture, job seeking assistance and even haircuts to people in need who need a helping hand.

❣️Clients have their own credit card to shop which allows them to shop with dignity and provides an inventory tool so shelves will be full with specific needs next time they shop.

📺This was filmed in the @thekennyloggins Center at Unity Shoppe. Kenny has been helping Unity for years along with countless volunteers. @bradpaisley & @kimberlywilliamspaisley created their own version of Unity called @thestore_nashville in Nashville. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if each town in our country had a Unity Shoppe?

🎲Change is inevitable, and we choose to embrace it! 🤗We have made the difficult decision to consolidate our two thrift stores at 1207 and 1209 State Street into ONE location, 1209 State Street. This means we are closing the doors to our 1207 State Street on November 27th. ⏳

🚨HINT: that means EVERYTHING MUST GO!‼️ We are having a blowout sale with everything at 75% off at the 1207 State Street location!! We will also open our doors on Monday Nov 25th

🛍️Rest assured, our 1209 State Street location is remaining open, and we have endless beautiful items being added to the floor daily (all thanks to contributions made by this incredible community).

🎨Regarding our beautiful downtown, don’t worry, there won’t be a vacant store or any boards up at 1207. We have already leased out this location to the incredible store, Art Essentials, which is a business that’s been in town for many many years.

🤝While we are saddened to close the doors to one of our retail stores, we are excited about all of our upcoming opportunities that will continue to serve our community.
