saturday was dumb cute! thank y’all for coming out! the next imy wasn’t supposed to be til july, but art will do what art does ★

i have a few favorite moments from the night, one of them being hearing that someone was crying and saying, 'i don’t want to leave and i never want it to end. when am i gonna find the lesbians again?'
i genuinely didn’t realize chicago lacked so many qtpoc events, and every time i throw an imy, i’m reminded of that fact

i’m gonna try my best to continue with these, and i appreciate y’all showing up + participating whenever i throw out ideas 🙂‍↕️

still on a high from saturday 🍒 y'all came during a snow storm 😭 it was my first real one so i wasn't sure what it was bout to be like but i'm glad y'all showed up n showed out!

Anieya Cauthen, I got a lot to be mad about

@anicauthen’s ongoing project, i got a lot to be mad about, explores photography as a process that expands beyond the frame, embracing interdisciplinarity as both method and meaning. Her process includes creating what she calls “false analogs,” combining photographs, screen recordings, prose, scanned objects and image-objects to explore how different surfaces hold emotional and sensory charge.

Am I really finished with graduate school if I haven’t moved out of my studio? I’m going to be posting photos of friends, crits, notes, and half-finished things over the next few weeks as I pack up and try to give myself some sense of closure. I’m so grateful for these past three years and all the people I got to share time and space with.
