Hannah and Anika, college roommates, wanted some dreamy outdoor photos, so we dialed up some sunshine, short-hiked to a meadow with tall grass, and were blessed with a clutch gold-foiled-reflector-assist from Catalina. This shoot was genuinely so much fun!!

My shooting and editing style is normally quite different from this vintage, flat, well…original Instagram aesthetic, but the ladies absolutely sold the look and made it difficult to take a bad frame.

GEAR HEAD STUFF: Ask me about my favorite lens and it’s the 50mm beast used on this shoot. Wide open, it’s amazingly sharp, and the background separation is super satisfying, creating a delicious 3D pop. Paired with the R6 II at 40 frames per second, I fired off over 3,000 images without even realizing it. 😳

Canon R6 Mark II, RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM, 22” gold foil reflector, Lightroom, Photoshop
