Last week, The Creative School proudly hosted the Gupta Family Foundation Toronto-Kingston Music Experience 🎶

Bringing together 7 artists from Kingston and 10 artists from Toronto, the week-long experience gave participants the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, collaborate in the studio every day, and build lasting cross-cultural connections through music.

Ending the day in the studio with Grammy Award-winning producer @Boi1da

🎧 Throughout the week, our studio sessions were hosted at @vapormusic, we are incredibly grateful to their amazing team for welcoming our artists into their space.

Day 6
☕ We closed the week with the Still Connected Breakfast Club, presented in collaboration with @beagirlconnected, featuring a conversation with Image Arts ‘05 alumni @chekothari—artist manager, event producer and philanthropist—and Award-winning recording artist, producer & music executive, @kardinalo. The discussion was moderated by The Creative School’s International Programs Coordinator, Aamina Mohamed-Edoo @aaminaplayit.

summer cv ☀️

It’s been a whirlwind of a summer. I led and executed my first project: TMU’s The Creative School’s (@thecreativeschl) inaugural Toronto-Kingston Music Experience funded by The Gupta Family Foundation (@reetuguptaofficial, @theguptafamilyfoundation), bringing together 7 artists from Kingston and 10 from Toronto for a cross-cultural collaborative music-making experience filled with workshops, studio sessions, performance coaching, and conversations. By tapping into my community, I built a holistic industry experience for the artists—bringing in different voices, expertise, and perspectives to support their growth beyond the studio. The inaugural cohort was genuinely phenomenal—I couldn’t be prouder of every single artist and everything they created throughout the program.

To wrap it all up, I moderated a Still Connected Breakfast Club (c/o @beagirlconnected) conversation with @chekothari and @kardinalo —two people whose careers and artistry I’ve followed for years. Hearing their stories firsthand and highlighting the ways they continue to represent and elevate Caribbean culture, advocate for themselves and pour into the community was an incredible moment. That entire week has easily been the highlight of my career thus far.

I can’t express enough how much the community showed up and showed out, sharing knowledge and resources. Whether it was in masterclasses or studio sessions, I’m so grateful for those who were a part of this inaugural year because I got to learn from them as well!

I’ve lived and breathed soccer my entire life, so being part of another historic moment in Canada is a feeling I can’t fully put into words.

Thank you to @realsudani & @fwc26toronto for the opportunity and trust.

The Lord is moving in every industry—including sports, media, and music. The fact that I can be an example of His faithfulness in these spaces is something I don’t take lightly. I can’t wait to share more testimonies of what God is doing behind the scenes.
