CLASS RECAP: Audition Class with Annie Blankenship This experience was so special. Yes, it was an audition. Yes, there were observers in the room. AND it was inclusive. No cuts. Lots of encouragement. Rigor, but with care. Both CATALYST levels came together in one space, with representatives from 12 different dance organizations observing and connecting with dancers. By the end of the experience, 45 giveaways and opportunities were awarded. Annie was the perfect person to lead this class. She created an environment that was warm, rigorous, informative, and genuinely supportive— giving dancers the opportunity to experience the energy of an audition without losing the sense of community we wanted CATALYST to hold. And it’s Annie, so of course it was fun!! So grateful for the dancers, organizations, and artists who helped make this such a meaningful part of CATALYST. 🎥: @serianphotography @annie768

Day 2 If Day 1 was about stepping into the room, Day 2 was about really taking up space in it. By Day 2, something had shifted. The rooms felt fuller— not just with movement, but with trust, encouragement, curiosity, and people genuinely rooting for one another. More training. More risk-taking. More cheering each other on. More connection. From classes to the audition to our final moments together, watching dancers show up so fully for themselves and one another was incredibly special. Still feeling so much gratitude for everyone who helped make this weekend what it was. 🎥 @serianphotography

Day 1 recap So much movement, curiosity, connection, and generosity packed into one day. From the first class to our Lunch + Learn, dancers showed up ready to train, ask questions, take risks, and support one another— and watching the kind of community we hoped for begin to take shape was really special. Still feeling so grateful for every member of the CATALYST Collective, dancer, artist, and organization who helped bring CATALYST to life. 🎥 @serianphotography

Community was at the heart of what we hoped to create with CATALYST. A place to train hard, ask questions, take risks, make connections, and experience dance without feeling like you have to compete for your place in the room. Hearing participants describe the weekend back to us has meant so much: “The environment and community was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was not only welcoming, but truly a place where I knew I could grow without feeling any pressure.”— Callie Hawkins “It was really a collection of the full Colorado dance community and I loved being able to be all together in one space for a weekend.”— Jax And an absolute favorite: “It was a treat to feel like myself in a workshop space.”— Vern Lazar That’s it. That’s what we hoped for. So much gratitude for every dancer, faculty member, artist, and organization who showed up and helped build this with us. CATALYST was never meant to just be about taking class— it was about bringing people together. And this community really showed up 🧡 📸 @tarayaxphotography
