Yesterday, we had a table reading of my slow-burn Juneteenth-themed whodunnit slasher horror comedy, “There Goes The Neighborhood” with Gingold Theatrical Group. It was an absolute pleasure watching Morgan Siobhan Green, Anita Welch-Smith, Hillary Fisher, Alyse Alan Louis, Vaughn Pole, Anthony Franqui, Jovan E’Sean, and Travis Raeburn read this script and bring these characters to life. A big shout-out to Dev Bondarin who helped oversee the gathering and read stage directions. Grateful to David Staller (founding artistic director), Rakesh Palisetty (director of new works) and Isaiah Josiah (managing producer) for putting the whole thing together. A special thank you to Ashley Nicole Baptiste and Paul Michell for their support and feedback. Being a writer, especially for the stage is an undertaking and it hasn’t been the easiest sojourn, but I am thrilled at being in a loving room with such titans. I haven’t laughed like this in a minute. Cheers to whatever comes next. 🏇🪓🩸🏇🪓🩸🏇🪓🩸🏇

Spent a little time in the city 🚕

Last week I shot up to NYC to workshop my newest musical, Rosie. The is our second workshop in Times Square. It is so surreal to be watching my work at this level. You know I had to cap Pride week by seeing @catsjellicleball. And THE CATS WERE OUT! I had sooooooo much fun. Im grateful that my work takes me to places like this. My life is pretty cool.

Big shout out to my collaborators @jakelandaucomposer and @sarandipedous for helping to shape this work and all the laughs. And to every singer/actor who came through that room, you are the reason we see ourselves more clearly. Thanks to our producers @laurrhana8 and @picklestarentertainment for making space for development of this exciting work.
