The megacity of Mumbai is one of the densest urban agglomerations in the world. Biodiversity loss, urban heat island effect, and surface flooding form a triad of threats that consistently and systemically endanger Mumbai’s ecology.

This research uses open data and AI tools to map infrastructural availability, micro-climatic vulnerabilities and stakeholder proximities to curate a circular, citizen-led, co-production of ecological services integrated with the corridors of Mumbai Metro Blue Line 01.

One Mumbai creates a pipeline for the development of tactical toolkits that can help platform Urban Ecological Commons. Hyperlocal spacemaking is curated through plug-in urbanism and creative partnerships with urban governance stakeholders. To bring these civic action plans together, an open platform is created, empowering citizens to access, propose and mitigate multi-stakeholder initiatives.

One Mumbai seeks to provide a collective response for urban planners, citizens and policymakers to create sustainable environments by dynamically absorbing Mass Transit Infrastructure to promote ecological connectivity, resilience, and social empowerment.
