Grateful for the weekend ✨

Thank you to @caitrionaoconnor @ocarrollconsult @activatevision_ for the chats, hugs, laughs and coffees that fuelled those jam packed, non stop 3 days 🚀

This was my fifth (!!) show and having mam and dad visit on Sunday was really special. I’ll never forget it 🤍

Memories that will never be forgotten💙

A rare sighting during the Sardine Run in South Africa ‘24 🇿🇦

It was an excellent experience, organised by @animal_ocean and the fantastic team behind the scenes. It’s a crazy good adventure😊

Coming across scallop hammerheads on Day 1 was not only unexpected but absolutely mind blowing.

Freediving can be a fun and memorable activity and doesn’t always have to be about the performance😊

Life lately 🌙 🐾 ☕️ 🤍

Out was the sun and so were we😅
Temperatures were mild yesterday and we decided to head to West Cork for some depth training and exploring.

To my delight, I saw close to 20 ‘full’ mermaid purses (egg shells).
We also came across a beautiful big Bull Huss and a lot of different fish. The seals clearly weren’t around😂
We stayed in the water 2 hours and spent half of it working on our technique and depth training.

Some regulars of us continue to go freediving and snorkelling throughout the winter months, if you are curious to come along, shoot me a message!

Air temp: 15C
Water temp: 14.5C

Yesterday, for some miraculous reason (or maybe our prayers were answered ), a window gap opened up, and a boat trip I had planned for many months finally happened.🤯

Shocked by how lucky we got with the weather, nature decided to surprise us some more and sent us some amazing wildlife encounters😍

Before listing off what we saw from the boat and whilst in the water, I wanted to thank everybody who came along and made this such a special group. I love bringing people together and help grow communities, and 2 years ago,
when this page started, I never thought I would get to know so many like-minded freedivers across Ireland. Including the ones who are yet to become one😄
There is a lot of awesome people out there🥰

Safety & respecting marine wildlife were our top priorities which is personally important to me.🌊

One friend ended up fishing some farmer's feed plastic stuff out of the ocean so we even cleaned up a little😁

What we saw👀:

- common dolphins
- seal
- bluefin tuna
- blue sharks
- fin whale
- minke whale
- loads of different sea birds
- loads of jellyfish

It’s pretty amazing what you can find in Irish waters🤯😍🩵

Get out and get exploring, Ireland is awesome🥰

🎂1 year anniversary🎂
Just before today’s meet-up, we realised it’d been exactly one year since this page was created🥹

A year ago, Ann and myself (Cornelia), were wondering where all the freedivers and snorkellers are in Cork/Ireland and when we started to organise meet-ups, we got to meet them😃

It’s been a year full of dives and snorkels whilst meeting so many of ye, either out in the water or online through this page (for now). It’s great to know that there is many more like minded people around.

Now we have a dedicated group of friends who meet up regularly to enjoy their passion together whilst also organising meetups for more people to join in and come out with us.

It has been a pleasure to meet you all🥰 To many more meet ups🙏🏼😊

Yesterday we met up with all the lovely people from @westcorkswimcoaching and everyone who showed up for our meet-up!

I wish I could have spent more time with everybody who joined us. It was such a big turnout, and still buzzing from it! 🥰

We did a little briefing and introduction to snorkelling, went for a fun snorkel and duck dives, followed by snacks besides the fire pit. We waited for the moon to rise and went in again for a little full-moon swim.
We saw seals, dolphins, shooting stars and had such a laugh😊

Thank you, Grainne, Poppy and everybody else who came out. It was so lovely to meet you all. Looking forward to the next meet-up already😊🌕
