If only I could go back and hug the version of myself who had so many questions. 🤍

When we first learned about our sons limb difference, there was so much we didn’t know. So many what-ifs, what-abouts, and questions about what the future might hold.

I wondered if I’d always know how to advocate for him, how to guide him, and how to navigate a world that doesn’t always understand differences.

But here’s what I’ve learned.

You don’t need to have all the answers to be the parent your child needs.

You learn as you go. You grow alongside them. You find your voice, celebrate the little victories, and discover just how capable you both are.

And somewhere along the way, those overwhelming what-ifs make room for all the beautiful things you never could have imagined.

If I could tell my past self one thing, it would be this:

Trust me, you’ll be fine 🤍

Sometimes the moments that feel ordinary now are the ones we’ll ache to remember someday. 🤍

The way they learned. The way they adapted. The way they figured out the world in their own way.

Take the photos. Record the videos. Celebrate every little victory.

Because their difference was never something to look past. It was always part of the beautiful person right in front of you.

A limb difference diagnosis once came with so many unknowns. Now, it comes with pride, advocacy, and a little boy who reminds us every day that different was never less 🤍

We can’t control every assumption he’ll face, but we can make sure he grows up knowing there is nothing about him that needs to be hidden, fixed, or apologized for.

Kinda chic, if you ask me!!

Sometimes I think back to all the fears I carried after his diagnosis.

Then I look at moments like this.

The truth is, his limb difference has never stopped him from being exactly who he is — curious, playful, adventurous, and full of life.

It simply became one beautiful part of his story.

This is everything I hoped motherhood would be 🤍

Google showed us the scary side of limb differences first.

The statistics.
The medical language.
The what-ifs.

What it didn’t show us was the life that would still be waiting for us.

The laughter.
The joy.
The milestones.
The personality.
The love that somehow grows bigger every single day.

It didn’t show us how funny, capable, curious, and deeply loved our son would be. It didn’t show us the community, the beautiful moments, or the way this journey would reshape our hearts in the best ways.

Google can give information.
But it can’t show you the full picture.

And the full picture?
It holds so much beauty 🤍

And he is, he’s perfectly fine.

At our anatomy scan, when we learned our son would be born with a limb difference, we were met with so many questions and what ifs. We didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t know what life would look like. We didn’t know much at all.

But we did know this:
we would love him and support him no matter what.

In just one year, he has done more than we ever imagined. Every day he shows us what is possible. Every day I learn something new from him.

I share these small moments from our life for a reason. To show you that it isn’t something to be afraid of. That there is so much joy here. That if you’re in that place of unknown right now… you’re going to be okay.

And your child?

Just trust me they’ll be fine.

I’ll NEVER pass up the opportunity to be a part of @thewaramps CHAMP (Child Amputee) Seminars, because of moments like this, with little CHAMPS like Theo. 😊❤️ #ifican

You guys asked, so I delivered. First tutorial be nice 😅

Recently I’ve started hemming my son’s shirts to better fit his limb difference — and it’s made them so much more comfortable for him.

I use a handheld stitch gun, which means the stitches aren’t permanent and can be easily removed later. So we can still donate and reuse his clothes when he grows out of them.

Sharing in case this helps another parent out there! I also have the stitch gun linked in my bio! 🤍

This month is for our kids and for every family learning to see strength in a different way.

A limb difference was never the end of the story.
It was the beginning of a new perspective, a new kind of resilience, a deeper kind of love.

Our children are capable, strong, and endlessly themselves. They are not defined by what’s missing - but by everything they are.

If you’re a parent walking this path... you are not alone.
And if you’re learning alongside us... thank you for choosing understanding.

Different is not less 🧡

Also isn’t his little @thewaramps bib cute!?

Or him being our little superstar with his @ccmhockey mini stick!?

Nobody tells you that parenting a child with a limb difference means carrying extra — extra appointments, extra advocacy, extra worry.

But it also means extra love, extra pride, and extra joy that most people never get to feel.

If it feels like a lot, it’s because you’re giving a lot 🤍

We spend so much time overthinking everything that could go wrong… what if we gave that same energy to what could go right?

When you hear words like diagnosis, disability, limb difference — your mind can go there so quickly.
To the questions.
The unknowns.
The moments you haven’t even lived yet.

You start to picture the hard days.
The stares.
The things that might feel different.

And that’s real. That’s valid. I’ve been there too.

But there’s another side that deserves just as much space.

A life filled with joy.
With laughter that comes easily.
With milestones that may look different — but still matter just as much.

A child who learns how to adapt in ways that will leave you in awe.
A perspective that shifts what you thought strength looked like.
A family that grows in ways you never expected.

There is pride here.
There is beauty here.
There is so much good here.

So what if just for a moment — we let our minds wander there too?

What if we overthought the resilience… the confidence… the life that is still so full?

Because this story — it isn’t only about what could be hard.

It’s also about everything that could be wonderful 🤍

There’s a lot of noise around what it means to be an “influencer.”

But if I’m influencing anything — I hope it’s this:

That a diagnosis isn’t the end.
That motherhood doesn’t take your life away.
That different doesn’t mean less.
That you can still live fully — with your child, not around them.

If even one person feels a little more grounded, a little more hopeful after this… then that’s enough for me.
