it wasn’t just written in the stars, we all did this. our editorial shoot “Ascendants” from Lore 003: The Cult Issue was selected as a Merit Winner for Photography by the Society of Publication Designers (@spdesigners)! “Ascendants” explored all the Zodiac signs, with one set for each of the four triplicities. The shoot was led by star photographer @royadelsol and developed by her, @paintedbylara_muah, @niko.fox, @grocerylyst, @solfuric and @kendrickttran with support from a huge cast of models and makeup artists, lighting assistants, and PAs who helped us bring it all to life. If you worked on “Ascendants,” you know this was a big big day. We started in the east end at an old haunted house for our Air and Fire signs, then moved the entire crew out west to Humber Bay for our Earth and Water sets. Roya’s photos turned out INCREDIBLE, but we couldn’t have captured them without the trust and time of everyone on set. 🤍 Also crucial to mention: “Ascendants” was a highlight for @pressedby.lara’s nail artistry. In the final spreads, we show each Zodiac sign and then punch in close to show custom nail looks she designed for each sign. This was a big part of where the creative direction came from, and it’s why you’ve always gotta trust your glam team. They know things, they are powerful. 🤍 Love that we’re starting to bring home some intl. awards for the team and get everyone’s creative work recognized. We’re running it back with Roya + team for one of our next issue’s covers (plural) and this is juuuust the start. Producing and Art Directing for fashion editorial project “NOMAD” BTS Photos taken by @jasoncolinares - Notes: This project began with the act of moving — not just between houses, but between versions of myself. Over the past three years, I’ve been navigating what it means to build a new life from scratch in an unfamiliar place. Every move, every space I called home, became part of how I redefined my identity. I used to wonder what I could offer to this place, how to leave a mark. But I’ve come to realize: just staying curious, staying creative — that’s already enough. Big thanks to my friend and photographer Jason @jasoncolinares, who donated his talent to captured these moments so sincerely.
